The hat pattern is designed for a head with a girth of 55-56 cm. This size can be suitable for both children and adults. If you need a cap for a head with a girth of 53-54 cm, you can cut out the details of the cap without seam allowances.

Print out the pattern and lay it out on the table. Measure the footprint and add to the size of the cutout for the top.

Decide on the desired length of the mitts. Our model is made as an analogue of short gloves, but you can sew them to any length. Measure the circumference of the palm at the level of the widest part, under four fingers. Draw a rectangle that has a width equal to the girth of the palm and a length equal to the desired length of the mitts. Add the resulting pattern in double size to the total size of the cut for the top and hat and add 10 cm of length for the tail.

We cut out ears from black felt so that they keep their shape well, a very small piece is enough for you, about 10x20 cm. From white felt, we cut out “cheeks”, a “shirt-shirt” on the chest and the tip of the tail. You will need two sheets of felt 20x30 cm. We cut out the nose and the inside of the ears from pink felt - a piece of 10x20 cm will also be enough for you.

As an addition to the image, put on black trousers or leggings, and the shirt can be either black or white. So, let's sew a kitty carnival costume!

Pattern printing and cutting

Download the pattern file and print on A4 sheets. Make sure your printer is set to print mode "actual size", "100%" and not "scale to fit". In the Russian-language program, an option is possible - "real size". Cut out all the details.

Cut out the details of the fleece hat with a 1 cm allowance on all sides. You will need two mirror pieces for both halves of the hat.

Cut out the ears from black and pink felt without allowances, two identical parts each. Cut out 1 nose piece from pink felt without allowances. Cut out 1 part of the "shirt-front" and 2 parts of the tip of the tail without allowances from white felt.

For the top, cut out a rectangle of fleece with a width equal to the width of the shoulders and a length equal to twice the desired length of the top + 10 cm. For the tail, cut out a strip of fleece 10 cm wide and the desired length, for example 40-50 cm. For mitts, cut out two rectangles, each of which has a width equal to the girth of the palm and a length equal to the desired length of the mitts. From the remnants of black fleece, cut 4 strips 1 cm wide and 30-40 cm long for ties on the sides.

Allowance on the side, short, sides 1 cm.

Working process

Stitch the darts on all the details of the cap, as well as the front and back halves in pairs.

Attach a pink nose.

Decide on the distance between the ears, in our case - 7 cm. Set aside from the central seam at half the required distance and make an incision 2 cm deep into the cap. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise for the tail and sew along the bottom edge. Turn out.

Insert the ends of the white felt tail inside the details. Sew along the outline of the white part, grabbing the black tail.
