Friends! I will not discover America if I say that the New Year is coming soon! But I hope that I will make you happy that I dedicate this issue to preparing for the holiday. We have a do-it-yourself Christmas tree made of felt with our own hands a master class. And we will not just meet her, but together we will master the technique of decorating the house and the holiday with our crafts!

How do we build a conversation? First, a few words about felt, what kind of material it is and what its advantages are. Then we will talk about what are the different options for Christmas trees. How to sew toys out of it. And how to involve kids in the process.

I'll start by listing what this material will please us with:

  • Soft;
  • Many color options;
  • You can cut out all kinds of shapes from it;
  • Does not crumble around the edges;
  • You can draw on it, you can sew on it, and glue it.

How to use these benefits? What good are they to us?

Soft felt for the child is pleasant and safe.

Different colors allow you to make any objects and toys from felt.

Cut out absolutely everything is possible from fabric, it is very easy to use.

No need to finish the edges due to the fact that the wool is very densely stuffed. This means that neither seam allowances nor extra steps are needed for the craft to be durable.

Draw, sew, glue. No material has such versatility. Therefore, felt products can be combined with each other or with other materials and objects in different ways.

Christmas decoration options. Patterns and assistance in making crafts

So, we want our New Year's beauty to be unusual, bright, safe and beautiful! So we need felt. What are the options for making Christmas trees from it:

  1. The simplest option is a triangular toy. Cut out two triangles on the same pattern. Sew up the sides. Place a piece of paralon, cotton wool or the same felt inside, and sew the bottom.

  2. We complicate. The same patterns, from which we cut out the triangles, are arbitrarily cut into pieces. We cut out parts from the fabric of a different shade of green and sew them together. It turns out a fun craft.

  3. A voluminous children's tree made of felt can be done even by a baby, if we have a denser material. Cut out 2 triangles. At one we make a cut to half from top to bottom, about the other - from bottom to top. Just be sure to make sure that the little one makes such cuts exactly in the middle of the workpiece. Now we put on the workpiece, which has a cut at the bottom of the second - from top to bottom. We put it through the cuts and get a Christmas tree, which you can freely not only hang on the wall, curtains or on a real tree, but also put it on the table.

  1. A Christmas tree made from felt circles put on a stick will turn out to be voluminous. Larger diameter circles are placed at the bottom, and towards the top, these circles become smaller and smaller. It will be interesting to look if you take felt of different shades of green.
  1. The same idea can be used in the next version. For example, how to make each layer have a fringe? If the edges of the circles are slightly incised. Or even cut into strips that are connected closer to the radius of the circle.

Large felt Christmas tree in the form of a cone

Not only small, but also for adults, you can make a real big beauty felt spruce at home. What is needed for that? 6 strips measuring 15 by 41 cm. Lay them out on the fabric at a distance of approximately 0.5 cm from each other.

We glue these strips to the fabric base and cut out the blank, taking into account + 1 cm along the edges and bottom. We bend the bottom of the felt and glue it to the paper. Glue double tape on the sides.

We begin to decorate the future model of the Christmas tree. Sew on buttons, glue ribbons. We connect the edges and glue the adhesive tape. Everything, a large felt tree is ready!

All my friends will be helped by photos and patterns of various products.

  • one quarter is cut out;
  • a cone is rolled from the remaining material;
  • glue it.

If the cone does not stick together, then you can use ordinary clothespins, press them on places that do not want to succumb to glue.

Christmas tree with radial symmetry and composite Christmas tree made of pillows

These chubby Christmas trees are similar to each other like girlfriends. They consist of parts stuffed with holofiber.

Do-it-yourself Christmas tree with radial symmetry is made from two, and preferably from three identical parts. Each of them is sewn on a typewriter, leaving 2 holes for stuffing at the bottom. Then they are turned inside out, folded into a pile and stitched along the vertical axis. After that, each blade is stuffed and sewn up with a blind seam.

The New Year is coming soon, which means it's time to start doing. Of course, the main symbol of the holiday is the Christmas tree! Today's master class is dedicated to its manufacture.

For Christmas trees you will need the same materials as for others:

  • sharp scissors
  • multi-colored threads
  • buttons, ribbons, beads, bells, bows for decoration
  • thin felt
  • pieces of colorful fabric for decoration
  • it’s good if you have a scrapbooking stapler - it’s perfect for felt too.

So, we will sew such a Christmas tree. This is the easiest option, and the easiest seam (even small craftswomen can handle this product :)

First, cut out the details from the felt. Then we sew buttons or other decorations to one of them.

When the buttons are sewn, we pin both parts right side up with a pin and sew them together.

When there is a little left before the completion of the seam, we fill the Christmas tree with synthetic winterizer. How to do this, I showed in the master class.

From above we sew a tail-pendant from a ribbon, and the tree is ready!

The Christmas trees in the picture below are somewhat more complicated. Felt halves are stitched with a “hem” seam and decorated with fabric details, beads and ribbons. Christmas trees are set on ordinary sandwich skewers. The base of the skewers is glued to felt-lined bottle caps.

These striped Christmas trees are decorated with felt stars. Asterisks are cut out with a stapler.

Another interesting option! Please note: the Christmas trees are sewn with a “hem” seam, while a bead is strung on the needle before each stitch. Christmas tree pendants are also made of beads.

These green and red beauties are sewn on a typewriter. It must be remembered that the products that you are going to sew on the machine must be large enough - small parts are difficult to sew.

A beautiful elegant Christmas tree is one of the main symbols of the New Year holidays. You can decorate a real forest beauty with small soft fabric Christmas trees, use them as elements of New Year's decor and gifts. Fabric crafts can be sewn from various fabrics: cotton, linen, wool, fleece, felt. Making a Christmas tree out of felt with your own hands is quite simple for both children and adults.

Small-sized soft crafts in the form of a forest beauty can be made even by the smallest children. This will require a minimum of materials, various decorative elements, bright beautiful threads and, of course, imagination.

draw simple patterns do-it-yourself felt Christmas trees can be done by a child of 3-4 years old. Their cutting and transfer of silhouettes to fabric, stuffing with filler of voluminous figures can be done by children with the help of adults. The latter is better to take over the work with needles and small details of the decor.

This simple craft does not require the master to work with a thread and a needle. It will be enough to have simple materials and tools:

  • squares of dense green felt (5 squares of five different sizes);
  • small brown felt mugs (5-6 pieces);
  • small buttons in the shape of an asterisk or snowflake;
  • thin line;
  • awl.

Cut out squares from half a sheet of thick A4 felt. In the center of each square and brown circle, two holes are pierced with an awl. A piece of fishing line is folded in half, the ends are threaded into the holes of one circle and tied into a knot (so the fishing line will not slip, and its ends will remain even during operation). Then five more circles are strung on the fishing line, forming a tree trunk. The finished part is fixed with a knot. The ends of the fishing line are folded together and squares are put on it in the form of a pyramid, giving them an arbitrary position in relation to each other.

At the top of the craft, a button is fixed in the shape of an asterisk or a snowflake.

A loop is formed from the fishing line, for which the toy can be hung on a Christmas tree or placed in a garland.

Herringbone constructor

You can make a small three-dimensional tree from felt using the technology of a composite designer. For this craft you will need:

  • thick felt;
  • decorative elements (small felt circles, beads, beads, buttons, etc.);
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • narrow braid or ribbon.

Make a compound New Year's crafts very simple. Two identical pieces are cut out of felt. In the center, each part is cut: one from the bottom to the middle, the other from the top to the same point. After that, proceed to decorate the details. Since all sides of the craft will be in sight, the decor elements are fixed with glue. After the glue has completely dried, the parts are interconnected and a textile loop is glued. Volumetric Christmas decorations can be hung on a real Christmas tree.

Small stuffed Christmas trees are classic decorations made from felt.

Such crafts are made of medium-density felt and padding polyester. The design of products depends on the taste preferences and imagination of the author.

To make a felt Christmas tree with eyes, decorated with snowflakes, you will need the following materials:

  • light green felt;
  • brown felt;
  • green threads are several tones darker than the fabric;
  • silver threads;
  • silver satin ribbon;
  • small toy eyes;
  • scissors;
  • needles;
  • glue;
  • sintepon.

Two pieces 10 cm high are cut out of felt. Small snowflakes and eyelash lines on one of them are embroidered with silver threads on both parts. With the help of glue, the eyes are attached to their place. The two parts are folded wrong side to each other, inserting a loop of tape at the top. Then they are sewn together with green thread, leaving a hole for stuffing. A small amount of padding polyester (sufficient to create a small volume) is evenly distributed inside the toy. A strip of brown felt is inserted into the stuffing hole and sewn up. The toy is ready.

Christmas trees for interior decoration

A voluminous Christmas tree made of fabric is suitable for decorating the interior. It is quite easy to draw patterns for such crafts with your own hands. Interior textile Christmas trees can be made using different techniques.

Craft using the tilde technique

In the tilde technique that is fashionable today, you can make not only unique dolls, but also interior items: for example, a Christmas tree. The tilde Christmas tree has smooth lines and a vertically elongated silhouette. For most of these crafts, the top is curved in the form of a cap.

To make a do-it-yourself tilda tree made of fabric, you need:

Making crafts begins with drawing patterns with smooth lines. A sketch of a Christmas tree is transferred onto felt folded in half and two mirror details are cut out.

To decorate the Christmas tree, small bows are made from satin ribbons, which are sewn onto both parts. In random order, the blanks are embroidered with beads.

The decorated parts are folded with the wrong sides inward and sewn together, leaving a small hole for filling the crafts with padding polyester. The filler is evenly distributed over the figure.

A wooden stick is inserted into the stuffing hole and sewn up.

The foam is shaped to match the selected flower pot. The workpiece is smeared with glue and placed in a mold. A hole is made in the center of the foam base and a Christmas tree on a stick is fixed in it with glue.

Cut out a circle from the organza. They put a pot on it, wrap organza around it and fix it on a stick with a ribbon. Decorative Christmas tree-tilde is ready.

Creative Christmas tree made from pillows you can decorate the bedroom. And after the end of the holidays, the elements of the Christmas tree can be used as a decor for a bed or a sofa in the living room. To make a Christmas tree, you can use felt of low density green and white color. You will also need a sewing machine (but you can also sew parts manually), pins, scissors, a rolled padding polyester, thick yellow or red felt.

Work begins with drawing a template. Each pillow is a star with five rays. Each master chooses the number and size of pillows on his own, focusing on his preferences. For example, a product can be made up of six pillows, alternating green and white parts.

The template is transferred to the fabric and two figures of each size are cut out. The details are sewn, turned inside out, the seams are straightened and filled with padding polyester, cut out in the shape of a pillow. The final product is sewn by hand.

A double-sided Velcro for fabric is sewn to each pillow with a few stitches. Use it to assemble a pyramid.

The top is decorated with a fleece stuffed star, which is sewn to the top part.

Manufacturing Christmas decorations based on a cone is a fairly common technique in which they work with many materials: colored paper, napkins, tinsel, and various fabrics. You can sew quite a lot of models of Christmas trees made of felt using the cone technique.

A small craft is made from a piece of thick felt. A piece is cut out of it in the form of 1/3 of a circle. Felt mugs of different colors are glued or sewn onto the unfolded part.

After decorating, the craft is sewn.

From this craft you can make an educational game for the youngest children. To do this, the decor is not sewn onto the enlarged conical base, but hung with Velcro. The assortment of decorations can be varied with flat felt figures of animals (squirrel, bunny, bear, owl, cat, dog), symbols of the New Year holidays (Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, snowman, deer, snowflakes). A variety of decorations depends only on the age of the baby and the imagination of the mother..

Forest beauties from felt- a great alternative to real trees in families with small children. A Christmas tree made of felt on the wall, sewn with your own hands, will not only beautiful part New Year's home decor, but also an entertaining educational game for the baby. The main idea of this product is to make one of the main New Year's symbols as safe and interesting as possible for the child. This idea has many incarnations, appearance which depends on the imagination of the authors.

Flat crafts

The simplest model of wall-mounted developing Christmas trees are flat, one-piece designs. To make them, you need a piece of thick felt about a meter long. In order for the product to look even and neat, a full-size half-tree template is made of cardboard. Cardboard can be replaced with a piece of wallpaper or newspaper, but in this case, when transferring the template to the fabric, it must be secured with pins. The felt is folded in half, the template is circled and the finished part is cut out. Felt details cut with scissors with a curly blade look beautiful.

A mount for toys is sewn to the finished workpiece, which can be:

There are several ways to fix the finished craft on the wall.. The main condition is a reliable fixation, designed for the active actions of the baby.

A self-tapping screw screwed into the wall can act as a fastener. In this case, a hole is made in the upper part of the Christmas tree, a cord is threaded into it, which is hung on the fastener.

If it is not possible to make a hole in the wall, then you can attach the product to the wall with double-sided adhesive tape. Stationery tape is not suitable for this purpose, as it cannot withstand the weight of the structure. Adhesive tape should not be used in rooms whose walls are covered with wallpaper, as after removing the decor, they can come off along with the tape.

Wall-mounted Christmas tree can be attached to the wallpaper with pins. In this case, it is necessary to disguise the attachment points and carefully monitor so that the child does not accidentally prick a needle or swallow it.

Other types of developing Christmas trees

In addition to flat wall Christmas trees , consisting of one part, more complex educational crafts can be made from felt:

  1. A flat craft, consisting of several parts, is made of dense green and light green felt. The template for this craft is initially drawn with one figure and several separate parts are drawn inside. Then it is cut into pieces and transferred to the fabric. Details should alternate in color. Parts felt tree cut out and stitched together.
  2. A stuffed Christmas tree made of felt for the wall is made in the same way as its smaller models. But there are some features that are due to the size of the products: the stuffing for the product is cut out according to its shape from a rolled padding polyester; so that the filler does not stray, its corners are sewn to the felt with a few stitches; to fix crafts on the wall, only the method with drilling a hole for a self-tapping screw is suitable.
  3. A stuffed composite Christmas tree is made from several paired parts. To save quite expensive felt, the part adjacent to the wall can be made of cheaper material. They are individually filled with padding polyester, which is necessarily fixed inside the part at several points. Then the parts are sewn together.

Felt Christmas trees are quite easy to make.. They give New Year's interior atmosphere of warmth and comfort. And their creation will make it interesting and entertaining to spend New Year's Eve evenings with your family.
