"Amouage" - magical aromas of the East. "Amouage" - magical aromas of the East Review of some Amouage fragrances

When the Arab Prince Said Hamad decided to revive the traditions of creating ancient flavors of Arabia, he invited the famous perfumer Guy Robert to head his perfume house -Amouage, the "child" of Saudi Arabia. The result of cooperation was niche perfumes that embody the luxury and mysteries of the East. Myrrh, silver frankincense from Dafar and rocky rose petals from Giambel are used in the fragrances of the perfume house. All Amouage fragrances are bottled in incredibly beautiful handmade bottles made in Muscat.

About sample box: Since one bottle of any Amouage fragrance costs a lot, it was necessary to act economically and olfactorily precisely and profitably. That's why I ordered a sample box of 6 fragrances so that I can easily "carry" them at home and choose my own. The spirits entered Epic, Jubilation, Honor, Gold, Reflection and Memoir(for the sake of which the only one, in fact, this entire fragrant set was ordered). According to the visual characteristics, I can hardly dare to call the contents of the samplebox “samples”: the perfume samples came to me in a beautiful white Amouage branded box lined with white velvet. Each individual sample comes in a 2 ml spray bottle with a golden cap. In a word, it is pleasant to hold even such a trifle in your hands. The Samplebox cost me only 38 euros, and since I ordered full-length fragrances from other brands with it, the delivery can not even be taken into account.

1. Perfume Amouage "Epic"

On the other side of truth and immortality, a Legend is born. Indian bay leaf and cinnamon are discreetly top notes, complemented by feminine accords of Chinese tea, geranium and jasmine surrounded by orris root, frankincense, patchouli and sandalwood.

Aroma composition: Cumin, Indian bay leaf, cinnamon; Damascus rose, geranium, jasmine, tea; Amber, musk, incense, oud, sandalwood, guaiac wood, patchouli, vanilla, violet root.

My impressions of the fragrance:

Santorini. White-blue island under the hot rays of the sun. Red sandy paths rush up the steep slopes. We go from the sea to the very top, to Imerovigli. The heat melts everything around, and I feel the smell of grass and laurel bushes pressed down by the merciless sun, as the aroma of dust bursts into my nostrils - from the earth burned by hell. Yes, this is bay leaf and greenery in the hot sun, when you are barely going up, when it is hard to breathe from the heat and blinding rays. And if, escaping from the heat, you go into a cool blue-and-white church, you can smell the smell of incense and wooden benches there. This is how Epic smells to me - heat, laurel, incense and dry wood. I don't hear anything Arabic in it.

Approximate price of 100 ml: 295 euro

Solution: I like these memories, but I can't stand the heat and dust very well. The aroma is undeniably unusual and interesting.

2. Perfume Amouage "Jubilation 25"

Description from the manufacturer(free translation from the official website of Amouage): The fragrance captures a moment of eternity, in which myth and reality are intertwined. It was created for an elegant, mysterious and sophisticated woman for whom life is a real art, she knows how to go beyond the time, place and culture in which she lives. The fragrance contains the sensations of the eternal magic of ylang-ylang, citruses and tarragon. The heart notes are a delicate velvety accord of davana oil, accentuated by sensual Cretan incense, which makes this fragrance the height of femininity.

Aroma composition: Tarragon, rose, lemon, ylang-ylang; Davana oil, Cretan rockrose, rose, frankincense; Amber, musk, vetiver, myrrh, patchouli.

My impressions of the fragrance:

Indian restaurant. Muffled light. Overflows of the sitar. The lamp on our table flutters in the breeze. The waiter sets the lamb curry in Madras in front of me, and the rich aroma fills the entire space. To me, Jubilation 25 smells like hot and pungent curry sauce, I can even see its beautiful color and almost taste it in my mouth. This is how Arab perfumes gave me completely Indian associations... A beautiful, sensually cocky fragrance, it seems to flirt with you - it tickles your nose with bright spices. Probably, associations are what I value most in perfumes - for me they are like memories enclosed in a vial. Opening Jubilation, I return to my husband and I restaurant experiments with Indian cuisine... I remember evenings dear to my heart, filled with romance and warmth.

Approximate price of 100 ml: 295 euro

Solution: Pleasant, interesting, and even associated with warm Indian memories, but to buy the full volume ... it's hardly ... you want something supernatural ...

3. Perfume Amouage "Honor"

Description from the manufacturer(free translation from the official website of Amouage): A scent of white flowers inspired by the tragic story of Madame Butterfly. In the name of honor and beauty, her love and grief, filled with poetry, will sound forever.

Aroma composition: Pepper, rhubarb, coriander; Jasmine, tuberose, gardenia, lily of the valley, carnation; Vetiver, frankincense, amber, opoponax, leather.

My impressions of the fragrance:

If I had not once learned the story of the beautiful and stunningly tragic love of the geisha Cio-Cio-San from the opera by G. Puccini for the American Pinkerton, I would never have become interested in this fragrance and would not have tried to understand it. Remembering the tragedy of her life and the betrayal of love, I understand why Honor smells so strange... It is built on a contrasting combination of the most delicate white flowers and hard chords of incense, amber and leather. The fragrance is complex in that it is both fresh floral and chypre oriental. These are two sides of the same tragic life. The plexus of tuberose, gardenia and lily of the valley symbolizes the bright, pure and selfless love of Madame Butterfly for the American lieutenant. In the first moments of applying Honor, I can hear the splash of watermelon and the beautiful sound of white flowers. But, just as a heartbreaking drama followed a beautiful love in life, so the floral freshness is swept away by the bitterness of incense, amber and leather. The geisha committed suicide, leaving her little son to the traitor and his new wife... and the flowers in the composition of the fragrance withered, obeying the deep astringency of the tragic oriental scents.
The fragrance is undeniably complex and beautiful in its attempt to convey a musical tragedy. But, if to be abstracted from this story, then a constant feeling of deja vu is created, in Honor there is no originality, no character - all the time it seems that it resembles either Chanel, or vintage Lancome, or something else. He seems to lose his face in a sea of scents. It flies quickly and is not remembered, does not take for the soul. It seems to me that the tragedy that the perfumer was trying to convey is not olfactory felt in it.

Approximate price of 100 ml: 280 euro

Solution: No, I will never buy it...

4. Perfume Amouage "Gold"

Description from the manufacturer(free translation from the official Amouage website): This strong floral fragrance is designed for special, important events and evening outings. It is rich in its sophistication and magnificence. Exquisite bottles are made of real French crystal and decorated with gilded ornaments made according to ancient Arabic designs.

Aroma composition: Rose, lily of the valley, frankincense; Myrrh, violet root, jasmine; Ambergris, civet secret, musk, cedar, sandalwood.

My impressions of the fragrance:
Gold clearly echoes the good old Opium Yves Saint Laurent (classic version of the 70s), they are like twin brothers. To confirm my feelings, I checked the pyramids of the composition - and found an absolute match in all notes, my nose did not let me down. Rose, Lily of the Valley, Mirro, Orris Root, Jasmine, Musk and Amber are also in YSL's creation. A tart and rather sharp vintage aroma. I love Opium, so I generally liked Gold as well, but I feel that the Arabian version is a little less interesting. It lacks the sensual sweetness that YSL perfumes have and without which it seems to me somehow lifeless, devoid of emotions. My husband didn't like it very much.
Approximate price of 50 ml: 235 euro

Solution: I won't take the full version.

5. Perfume Amouage "Reflection"

Description from the manufacturer(free translation from Amouage's official website): The fragrance opens with a memory of the juicy green freshness of morning dew in springtime. A sophisticated bouquet of white flowers crowns the fragrance with richness and depth, while flowing musk and sandalwood envelop the warm notes of amber, creating a magical aura on the skin. Pure, sparkling and intriguing, the fragrance is a reflection of the inner self.

Aroma composition: Turcha marsh, freesia, tropical green leaves; Magnolia, ylang-ylang, jasmine; Amber, musk, cedar, sandalwood.

My impressions of the fragrance: Freesia and violet freeze for a few minutes, and then dissipate like morning mist by noon. A fragrance without character, completely out of the general concept of Amouage. I am somewhat perplexed...

Approximate price of 100 ml: 270 euro

Solution: Too simple and faceless, I don’t even want to use a probe.

6. Perfume Amouage "Memoir"

Description from the manufacturer(free translation from the official website of Amouage): A new interpretation of the eternal story of a Man and a Woman. A film-worthy interlude from Amouage, it draws new notes from under the obvious overtones of sentimentality, painting a picture of a chronicle that defies the ordinary - full of tension, incredible changes and unpredictable interconnections.
Memories of the Black Swan. Being held captive by her mysterious alter ego, revealing the otherworldly secrets of her past, present and future, she sees fragments of an incomprehensible life in her fragmented memory. This is how this chypre fragrance is born.

Aroma composition: Mandarin, cardamom, wormwood and pink pepper; Black pepper, cloves, lush white flowers, rose, jasmine, precious dark wood, incense; Styrax, oakmoss, castorium, leather, Cretan cistus, fenugreek, musk.

My impressions of the fragrance:

Amouage is known to have gained a lot of fame. What is this perfume brand. This name itself, if translated into Russian, means, as it were, a combination of the words wave and emotion. And this can be understood, because when you manage to use this fragrance of perfume, you yourself will be able to experience unprecedented emotions, since this fragrance is really created in order to evoke various positive unexpected feelings.

But the history of this famous brand began back in 1983, it was then that the Prince of Oman Saidu Hamadu suddenly decided to recall the already forgotten traditions of Arab perfumery again. It is difficult to say that it was just a desire to become famous that made him do this, or maybe he did not trust foreign perfumes and decided that they did not correspond to Arabic philosophy and I understand what they should be, this is very close to the possible reasons for the appearance of this brand. But later, this fragrance, which carries the whole philosophy of the Arab world, made its way to the farthest corners of our planet and won a place of honor for itself. And it is worth paying attention to the fact that Arab culture has long had a noticeable impact on other cultures. For example, various musical performers from the East are very popular in many parts of our planet, and why then this perfume brand will not be popular. Moreover, these spirits were created for the prince himself, and who would refuse such spirits, which were created exclusively for such a person.

But already in our times, modern kings and various representatives of the aristocracy began to use these spirits, and it is also known that Hollywood stars also fell in love with them and use Amouage regularly.

But later, not so famous people began to have the opportunity to use these spirits. But of course, since their price is very high, this applies to just rich people, mostly, naturally, women. It is worth noting that you can already order amouage on the Internet today.

After all, these perfumes will make rich women feel no worse than a queen. And many simply begin to feel like queens.

Today, these perfumes have already become classified as ultra-Luxe perfumes. After all, it should be noted that the components from which these perfumes are created are very difficult to obtain and they are very expensive. This includes silver incense, which can only be obtained in Dafra. It is mined by pastoralists who have to look for it in the meadows for a long time. It should also be noted that this also includes a rocky vine, which is no less difficult to find. And also other equally exclusive materials that create all the attractiveness for this brand.

It is worth noting that for a persistent and long-lasting smell, you only need a couple of drops.

In the section on the question Which of the amouages (female) do you prefer? Which one do you think is the most luxurious? given by the author perfume maniac the best answer is The most luxurious and most beautiful Amouage for me is Bilavd.
Witchy bitter herbs, dizzying pink base, intoxicating nectar and insinuatingly animal, deceptively soft, like a predatory cat... .
A very French perfume.

Answer from Nataly[guru]
I prefer men's amouages.
namely the interlude and the lyric.
from women's I will also note interlude)

Answer from Already a part of the universe[guru]
I have not tried those that the girls describe, but Ciel, Honor, Epic, Reflection, Dia, Faith lather on me mercilessly - just expensive flower soap, and nothing more. I will note Ubar and Gold more positively, but they are too heavy for me to wear, Ubar is a beastly note, Gold is the strongest aldehyde.

Amouage (Amuage)- a unique luxury trading house was created in 1983 by the Arab sheikh Said Hamad. The concept of the trading house is not aimed at wide distribution or quick profit, the concept of Amouage is the creation of a truly high-quality and unique perfumery.

Among the fans of the brand are rich sheikhs, members of royal families, famous actors and politicians (including, for example, Vladimir Putin). In its 30-year history, Amouage has proven to the world its highest reputation in the selective perfumery market.

Amouage - exclusively natural ingredients

By order of the founder of the trading house, Amouage perfumes are created from the most expensive and valuable ingredients in the world, using most of the manual labor in the manufacturing process.

Silver incense, rocky rose petals, and myrrh are used to create Amouage fragrances. Many ingredients are truly unique, for example, silver incense is mined only in Dafar (Oman), which is manually collected by local residents.

All Amouage perfumes are bottled in beautiful handmade bottles made in Muscat (the capital of Oman). The fragrances of the trading house are produced in several volumes: 30 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml, as well as in tester format, in addition, you will find gift sets and candles in the assortment.

The history of the creation of the Arab brand Amouage

The Arabic perfume brand Amouage today is perhaps the most prestigious, expensive and sought-after manufacturer in the elite niche perfumery market. All the fragrances of this brand belong to the ultralux category and are a symbol of high social status, wealth, luxury, impeccable taste, and are also recognized as the pinnacle of perfumery art.

Since ancient times, perfumes created by Arab perfumers have been considered the standard of excellence and have always been in great demand among the most distinguished people in the world. They possessed not just a traditional oriental sound, but were distinguished by a special richness, versatility and sophistication of aromatic symphonies.

Perfumes were made from the rarest precious components according to unique recipes that were kept in the strictest confidence. But over time, Arabian fragrances began to lose their exclusivity, as it was quite difficult for perfumers to extract these priceless ingredients, thanks to which perfumes were so exclusive and deep.

Before developing the first fragrance for Amouage, Guy Robert carefully studied the culture of the East and the history of the Arabian perfume industry. Finally, in 1983, the first noble, absolutely stunning brand appeared under the Amouage brand, which instantly captivated the public, received the highest ratings from reviewers and became a bestseller. Since then, and for more than thirty years now, Amouage elite perfumes have been favored by members of royal families, representatives of the aristocracy and the most famous people in the world.

All Amouage aromatic products are based on the inextricable interweaving of the best Arabic perfumery traditions and the philosophy of the East with the refined sophistication and high quality of Europe. The chic perfumes of this brand are made from the best, most expensive, natural ingredients, which provide them with incredible durability and originality, originality of smell. The consonance of aromas of silver incense and rocky rose, which is used in all compositions, endows them with a whole bunch of emotions: from sensual tenderness to animal passion.

Today, the collections of the Arab company contain a variety of men's and women's compositions, united by the mysterious motive of the East. Combining amazing spice and astringency, they enchant, captivate, intoxicate. Each perfume has its own bright character, magical charm and original, memorable sound.

Amouage perfumes are not intended for mass consumers, they are created for true perfume gourmets, for people who understand high-quality, luxury, exclusive products that can delight and give real pleasure. At the same time, Amouage perfumery can give rise to diametrically opposed opinions: some adore it, others cannot stand it, but no one remains indifferent.

The highest level of Amouage fragrances is emphasized by amazing, richly decorated handmade bottles, made using precious metals and decorated with precious stones.

Arab brand perfumes are quite expensive, which once again testifies to their exceptional value, but the incredible pleasure and joy that each person experiences as a result of their use cannot be compared with material costs.
