Inspired by the example, every year more and more new cities began to join the action "Earth Hour". It is expected that in 2020, residents of more than 7 thousand settlements of our planet (more than 2 billion people) will take part in a voluntary power outage for 1 hour. Among the countries participating in the action, of course, there is Russia.

As we wrote above, the event is held annually last Saturday in March, except in those years when the last Saturday in March comes before Easter.This year's Earth Hour is scheduled for Saturday. March 28, 2020. Promotion will start at 20:30 local time and will last for an hour, until 21:30.

As many as 3 days: this is an official public holiday (according to Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation) and standard Saturday and Sunday, which fall on the 24th and 25th of the month, respectively. Of course, most of all, this alignment will please people with a constant 5/2 work schedule. However, for citizens working according to other schemes, a day off, even if it is the only one, will definitely not be superfluous.

Important! Russians working on a 6/1 schedule will be able to relax in February in the same way as those who enter the service 5 days a week. The authorities made a decision according to which these 2 categories of people will be united during the holiday weekend. And for those, and for others rest will begin on Friday. But on Monday, the 26th, they will again need to go to work.
At the same time, Art. 95 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation establishes another pleasant rule for all state employees - it concerns the reduction of the day preceding the holiday, i.e. Thursday (22nd). On this day, everyone who has:
40 hour;
36 hour;
24 hour work week.
In total, in February next year, citizens are waiting for 19 working days and 9 days off.
From the history of appearance
Previously, Defender of the Fatherland Day had a completely different name. It was called the Day of the Soviet Army and Navy. The origins of the introduction of such a holiday in the life of the country must be sought in the distant 1918. It was then that the leadership of the RSFSR established these military formations, but this happened on January 28 (Red Army) and February 11 (Red Fleet). What about the number 23?
It turns out that February 23, 1918 is the expected date of a major victory of the Red Army over the Germans, which took place near Pskov and Narva. Until 2002, the full name of the solemn date sounded like this: “The day of the victory of the Red Army over the Kaiser troops of Germany in 1918 - Defender of the Fatherland Day.” However, later this historical fact was considered not fully proven, and therefore it was decided to simply omit the first part of the name, without changing the tradition itself, which had already been established over many years.
Celebration: Then and Now
The date of February 23 was not considered either in the RSFSR, or after, already in the USSR, neither solemn nor festive. But it was extremely patriotic: on this day, soldiers received clothes and food from the common population. This is due to the fact that the post-revolutionary period of the formation of the new state turned out to be an extremely difficult time for the army: it became impoverished and continued to exist only thanks to the help and support of ordinary people.
Today, almost on the eve of 2018, Russians are no longer wondering how we walk on February 23. People know that on this day, which eventually joined the category of public holidays and acquired a special social status, they can attend completely different entertainment events both at the main venues of the country and in ordinary district parks. In honor of the triumph, the authorities organize grandiose free concerts. The Kremlin is awarding the military, distinguished by their own military merits. A 10-day weekend is the answer of the Government to those who are waiting for an official decision on how we relax in December 2018, January 2019. New 2019 Russians will have to rest for 10 days.
Holidays for the New Year is a time of rest for schoolchildren and students. There is no need to decide with whom to leave the children, they will be entertained by the parents themselves, who have received traditional long holidays from the Government of the country.
Some officials six months ago submitted to the Government the question of canceling such long holidays. There were weighty arguments about the economic losses of the country's budget, and about the prevention of long-term use of alcoholic beverages. But their arguments were not accepted, the Government insisted on long holidays.
How to relax in December 2018
Holidays and pre-holiday days of December fall on working days. So, December 31 is Monday, it is already known that it is non-working, as it has been officially postponed to the 29th, Saturday. In this regard, the working Saturday will be, according to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, shorter by 1 hour, as a pre-holiday day. 
Taking into account the subsequent January holidays, many families are already planning their winter vacation today, based on the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, which gives days off and holidays in January 2019.
How to relax in January 2019
The last weekend of 2018 will delight housewives - they are given two days - December 30-31, Sunday and Monday. The real New Year holidays will begin with them in every family.
Such celebrations are arranged by all public organizations in each city so that all children can attend fun and joyful events. Some families will go to a resort where they can go skiing, others will fly away to the ocean coast, to compare the differences between winter and hot summer.
The official calendar approved by the Government, according to which the New Year holidays in 2019 are celebrated from January 1 to January 8. January 1 - Tuesday, everyone will celebrate the New Year 2019 on the night of Monday, and then there are holidays. The first working day of 2019 is Wednesday, January 9th.
Weekends falling on holidays on the 5th-6th, Saturday and Sunday, are already being postponed to May, the 2nd-3rd, Thursday and Friday. 
Important! In the course of the holidays there will also be an Orthodox holiday - Christmas, January 7th.

In addition to the winter celebrations, there will be another weekend in 2019. Defenders of the Fatherland Day in February 2019 will have 2 days to rest - Saturday, Sunday, 23-24. The holiday from Saturday 23 February has already been officially moved to Friday 10 May. 
March, with the celebrations of International Women's Day, gives Russians official days off for 3 days - 8, 9, 10, falling on Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
May with New Year's and February transfers will give summer residents time to take their souls from the 1st to the 5th, then from the 9th to the 12th. 
The November Day of National Unity in 2019 gives three days of rest - 2, 3, 4, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
Waiting for the New Year
In the meantime, everyone is waiting for the approach of 2019. There is very little time left before him. December will be filled with pre-holiday preparations, the purchase of gifts, the installation of a Christmas tree. And do not forget to buy a glass pig - a new Christmas tree toy, a symbol of the coming year. 
The turmoil is caused precisely by the special symbol of the year: you need to prepare thoroughly for the meeting of the pig, carefully think over the dishes on the table and the details of the design in the interior in order to fill the house with the expectation of magic. 
2019 will be held under the sign of the Yellow Pig. She expects from everyone a good festival, so that the whole year will be successful. The decoration of the apartment must be done in yellow-gray tones, the same shades must certainly be worn in clothes, even if it will be ribbons in braids for daughters. 
The traditional colors of the pig bring love, finances, good luck in creative endeavors to the house. But do not forget about those colors that Santa Claus loves - red, green, gold.
Although February and March are not very rich in public holidays, these months still have two “red” calendar dates. And the Russians are waiting for them with great impatience. These are men's and women's holidays.

It goes without saying that Defender of the Fatherland Day and International Women's Day are public holidays. And how many days in a row we will rest, now we will tell. February 23rd falls on a Friday this year. It is followed by two calendar days off - Saturday and Sunday. Thus, on Defender of the Fatherland Day we will rest for three whole days in a row. At the same time, Thursday, February 22, is a pre-holiday day. You can legally leave work an hour early. And on the occasion of International Women's Day, Russians are waiting for a big weekend.
We will rest and relax from March 8 to March 11, 2018. The Russian government, compiling the production calendar, resorted to a transfer. This resulted in an extra day off. So, on Friday, March 9, the day off was postponed from Saturday, January 6. We add that March 7 in the working calendar is considered a pre-holiday day, therefore, the duration of work is reduced by one hour.
