Velcro tape, also called "contact tape" or "Velcro" - a type of fastener used in the clothing and footwear industry.
It was invented by the Swiss engineer and big fan of tourism Georges de Mestral (1907-1990). He was led to the idea of creating such a fastener by a burdock stuck to the hair of his beloved dog.
