The real name is Arthur Sita. The present moment is always there

We present to your attention a text recording of Arthur Sita's satsang, in which the master answers the questions of the participants. You can see the full recording of the satsang at the bottom of the page.

Alma-Ata, May 15, 2015.

Artur Sita makes a compliment to the residents of Alma-Ata: "How beautifully your birds sing in Alma-Ata, there is no other city like this, no matter how many times I have traveled." (Episode time: 54:21).

How did enlightenment happen to you?

Question: Please tell us how the awakening of consciousness happened to you, how enlightenment happened? How did you know that you are consciousness?

15 years later, I realized it.

Question: By what criteria did you understand this? Or was it some event in your life?

Sita: Well, there were a lot of events talking about this, but I did not know what it was. And I found out only when I was asked to read the book and found out that it was about this. It was Osho's book. I started reading, and I saw that yes, she really is about it. She was about this condition, but I did not know that this condition had a term.

Question: Did it happen in society or after going through some retreats?

Sita: No, there were no retreats or practices.

Question: And now you are practicing some spiritual processes, practices in order to deepen your state?

Sita: No, it does not deepen.

Question: That is, it happened to you so deeply that there is nothing more to learn? As far as I know, awakening, enlightenment is such a path that has no end!

Sita: Well, at least I don't know.

Question: Then tell me about your real reality, what is it and how is it? What are these sensations, feelings? What is the clarity of consciousness? How do you feel about being awakened?

Sita: There are a lot of differences in the sensations and in the perception of life, I cannot describe them. But the most important thing is the feeling that you are and you are not at the same time. You are always here and at the same time you are everywhere.

What is the main difference in my perception of life? It is the feeling that you are and you are not at the same time.

Question: Who thinks, who says, who does?

Sita: All the time the same, in different voices (here - points to his mouth; here, here - points to other people in the hall; - here and further approx. ed.). He speaks all the time the same in different voices.

Question: So you see yourself in the outside world?

Sita: There is no outer or inner world. The division into the external and internal world occurs only in the conditions of the existence of some kind of border. This boundary is your image of yourself, your thoughts about yourself. If you don't have thoughts about yourself, then you don't have inner peace. The whole world is your inner world, or the whole world is your outer world, there is no difference. This division into inside and outside one day disappears. For the future and the past.

Are you watching the thoughts that come to you?

Question: Do you somehow observe the thoughts that come to you?

Sita: No.

Question: Well, it is clear that you do not identify these thoughts with yourself, but do you observe them?

Sita: No. In order to observe, an observer is needed. There is no observer. The observer is a false idea. The observer is the ego. He may be silent, but the observer is the ego.

At some stage, silence can happen to you, you have no thoughts. But there remains the feeling of an observer observing thoughts that come from time to time. But that's why these thoughts come, because the observer is still there. This observer is the ego.

If it is seen that there is no observer, then thoughts stop coming. Because you don't mean anything anymore. That is, there is no self-designation. If there is no self-designation, then there is no fuss associated with this (draws a circle with his hand). All your thoughts are connected with the fuss around thoughts about yourself. "I want this, I don't want that. I want to be healthy, I don't want to get sick. I want to live, I don't want to die."

It has to do with self-image. If the self-image disintegrates, as when the lights are turned on, shadows disappear, ghosts that could seem to exist in the room. Only what was always there remains in the room. If there was a chair, a table, a piano or a flower - they remain, but what it seemed in the dark - disappears.

A flower could seem to you something or someone, it could seem to you that someone is standing there - you turn on the light and it turns out that it is just a flower. If there was a feeling that you are someone who lives life, this someone has a past and a future, there is life and there is non-life for him, and all worries about life are connected with feeling like someone.

The light came on, but that someone was gone. And then there is no reason for thoughts to come, because thoughts come only as a concern for this someone, about you. This is clear? If there is no one, then there is no one to take care of, there is nothing to think about. It doesn't matter to you what will happen tomorrow or in a year. And all thoughts are connected only with your "future", what will happen tomorrow or in a year, with conditionally "your".

When the last illusion of the observer disappears, the observation also disappears. There is nothing and no one to watch. And observation as a phenomenon ceases to exist.

How can I make the right choice?

Question: About a year ago I asked you a question, to which you answered, and after that there was some kind of calm, and gradually everything began to be in order.

But now I feel some kind of constant torment - I understand that there is no choice, but there is a constant torment that you need to make a choice. I'm confused at this stage and don't know what to choose. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing, am I choosing the right one?

Sita: Your anxiety is connected with the fact that you still believe in your future, a better future. You have hope for a better future. You hope to live, you hope to be healthy, you hope to be happy - you have hope.

Topic: Interview with Nick Vujicic: "Hope never dies"

This hope is connected with the fact that you do not feel it fully now. If right now you feel completely satisfied, then you do not need a future. Now you are perfect, you already fully exist, you are, there is nothing to add or subtract from you, your present moment is perfect as it is. And you wouldn't want to bring in or take anything out.

If everything looks like this, then you have no anxiety in choosing. You can have many options for how to arrange these flowers here, or which flowers to put in this vase. But when you choose, you get pleasure. You see a lot of options where you can sit now and it gives you pleasure, and you choose one of the options. Then maybe you'll change your mind.

The multiplicity of options is not the problem, the problem is worrying about right or wrong. right choice. This anxiety is born from the fact that the attention is not completely here, it is still in the future.

The multitude of options is not the problem, the problem is worrying about the right or wrong choice.

This is due to the fact that you are not fully aware of yourself to the end, there is no full awareness. And there is no, as yet, such a life experience in which you can see that it is not so important what events happen to you. Some time will pass and you will see that good events are good, bad events are also good. Something happens to you - it's good, something doesn't happen to you - it's also good.

When you see that nothing matters in general, then it will be easy for you to choose from many options. And even your difficulty in choosing, when you do not know what to choose - this will also be a kind of "good", this will also be perceived by you as good.

Question: And how can I live now, while I have not yet achieved this?

Sita: We must live now. If you can, then live it - now. Then all your problems that you talk about disappear. If you live now, these problems disappear.

Need to live now

Statement: But to live now it needs to happen to you.

Sita: Yes, and it happens. One day it happens and you light up the world with the cry "I-I-I". When you are born, you declare yourself: "I-I-I." This happened.

All of you once appeared, were born to your mothers. This is the moment when you appeared in this world, manifested now. It always goes on like this.

If your attention is watching now, then it is real now. If you watch your thoughts about now, about yesterday, about later, about tomorrow, then now becomes unreal. Now it happened, when you were born into this world, it happened now. It will never happen again, it is already there, you were born in it.

You are talking about the fact that the space of life should happen to you - the space is already there, but you can not notice it, look at objects all the time and not notice the space where you are already. If you once notice this, it is called "realization", then life begins to flow in a different direction, then things turn out by themselves, you see where your road leads you - nowhere, all the time to nowhere. That's all.

Question: Do you have such a vision that a condition like yours can happen to a large number of people?

Sita: Yes, that's why I travel to all cities. Do you think I love traveling?

Question: It turns out that you initiate, launch this process with your presence?

Sita: Well, part of this process is, yes. But I'm not speeding up.

It is like a cock that crows at dawn when it is still dark. Does he wake people up? Yes, it's possible. But he does not hasten the dawn. He screams 15 minutes before dawn. And if a person wakes up in the dark, he says: "I'm completely crazy, screaming in the middle of the night!"

But if this person suffers a little, looks closely, he will see that it is already dawn. And then he will know that the rooster always crows in time, never makes a mistake, unless, of course, it is some kind of fox that has crept into the chicken coop.

Arthur Sita describes his state of enlightenment

Question: Can you remember how this happened to you? What was your condition then? Can you describe?

Sita: It happened amazingly. The state before that was terrible, like all of you. Life is hell. Until you realize it. Until you become aware of yourself. Until you realize who you are.

This in itself is amazing and completely different from what you imagined about life and about yourself. And all that happened in your life, you absolutely do not need, in no way, you do not need it. You can do the same, continue or not continue, but you do not need anything.

You are more than human. You are the consciousness that exists in man. Like a driver who, for example, exists in a car. Or the body that exists inside the clothes. Or somehow one could compare, but any comparison is wrong.

It can be said that you are like the air that is inside an inflatable balloon. This air is everywhere, but inside the balloon it is limited. And then there is a hole, or here in Satsang I poke a needle and this ball "poof" and deflates. But only the one that flies close, who is tired of being a ball. Or are you just running into beautiful rose, as it was in my case. It is an accident.

The most amazing phenomenon in life, everything else is worth nothing. All achievements are worth nothing. After that, you can achieve anything. Or achieve nothing, it's all worth the same.

You are this void

Question: Is this recognition automatic or does it take some practice? If you see this air inside you, then you just need to watch it?

Sita: If you see the air within you, then you will see that it is everywhere. If you see that you are space, then you will see that it is space that exists everywhere.

This is an unambiguous phenomenon, it is impossible to make a mistake here if you have ever heard about it. I just haven't heard of anything like it. Just in an instant I became absolutely happy, not understanding what it is. And he lived like that all his life, until they let me read about it. I didn't know what it was, I thought everyone was happy. I have already forgotten that I once suffered, suffered, shy, afraid, doubted. I forgot about it and thought that everything really exists.

Question: I don’t know about others, but I have a certain partition ...

Sita: Yes, this partition is illusory. Immerse yourself completely in what is inside this partition and your awareness of yourself will grow so much that it will break through this film.

That is, it is approximately like if you inflate a balloon, inflate, inflate, inflate without fear. You know how it will end, but you continue to cheat and "BOOM!" ... you are free.

The same is true here. You sink inside yourself, deeper and deeper into this emptiness, and you become aware of yourself as this emptiness, and at some point "BOOM" - everything is emptiness.

Question: That is, do not identify it with anything, it just exists and that's it?

Sita: Is she separate from you? No. It is not separate from you in any way, it is you.

If you want to separate yourself, you will always separate yourself. You will constantly do like this (closes your eyes with your palm), if for some reason you like it, then you will not use yourself, you will not use your eyes. But you don't have to (takes his hand away from his eyes). If you do not build this partition, then it does not exist.

If you become aware of this emptiness, you will see that it is everywhere - you are this emptiness. Which is completeness. This emptiness in which all this exists is drawn, all this is realized (points to the world around).

Sometimes it may seem that this emptiness is separate from you, that you are observing it, that you are an observer who observes emptiness. But is she separate from you right now?

Question: Is this some kind of focus now?

Sita: Focus is the mind. The mind is a magician. It separates the objective world from the subjective. He says: "Emptiness is separate, and objects are separate. Space is separate, you are separate."

Statement: No, but everything happens in the void. But now this barrier is gone.

Sita: It didn't exist, you just created it. My job is to show that it doesn't exist. You've been stepping over a threshold that doesn't exist all the time. All the time he opened the door, which is not there.

It's like in my childhood there were people who did like this (makes movements with their palms, as if in a glass box), mimes, in my opinion, they were called. Until now, they are, and live. Here, the whole room, almost. Who believe in this partition and create it. But she is not. You are the emptiness that permeates everything.

Kaleidoscope of life

Question: state of war and peace. There is a state of rest when we can reflect and philosophize about what is important for us... What speaks in us is the ego that drives progress, which makes us strive for something, for some kind of achievement; or is it a soul that seeks to create and create? Where is the difference between peace and war?

Here's how to recognize - is it my soul or ego? When I write poetry, I know that it is the soul that writes, not the ego. But when my close friend insults me and my soul hurts, and the ego rises and says: "Why are you?". This is the state of war and peace.

Sita: It is always just ego. And when poetry and when a friend - always ego. Only the ego can be hurt and inspired. Only the mind that says, "I am inspired, I am in love or I am offended."

Question: How do you deal with difficult situations in your life? When you are thrown out of a state of rest in one way or another by various people or events? How do you react when, say, a completely unfamiliar person treats you disrespectfully?

Sita: No matter how much I tell how I do it or how someone else does it, it won't change anything, you won't be able to apply it. It won't change your reaction. It won't change your anger or resentment or falling in love if you do something.

Statement: The biggest problem of humanity is the unacceptability of each other. We will get out of here and will no longer be united by you, we will suddenly turn into a bunch of strangers.

Sita: You are never separated by anything. That's how the fingers on the hand - they are not separated, while being separated. In separation is all the beauty and the whole meaning of this world, it exists for separation, only in this way can it exist. At the same time, all people are life, part of the whole, but everyone is separate and must be separate and individual in their manifestations, their sensations. This is normal and therefore this world continues to exist day after day in its diversity.

But in general, if you look, it's like a kaleidoscope. As a child, I had a kaleidoscope, and when I looked into it, I saw a solid variety. It had only 10 or 15 multi-colored pieces of glass sandwiched between three mirrors. But this created a huge number of variations of multi-colored patterns, and it seemed that they never repeat and everything is simply amazing, especially when you look at the sun.

Exactly the same person. There are many people, and although all are essentially simple, but the constant interconnection creates incredible amount options - experiences and sensations. One person says: "I love you" - you experience one thing, another person says - you experience another. One person says: "You are a fool" - you experience one thing, when another says this phrase - completely different experiences occur.

And this diversity inspires you to continue life. You - not a given person, but you as part of a larger life that we all are. These 7 billion multi-colored pieces of glass give an infinite number of different combinations and situations. Therefore, life inspires reproduction, transformation, and all the time this kaleidoscope gives out new options.

An unawakened person is pregnant by itself

Question: I have met a lot of awakened people in my life, and probably meeting with you is also not accidental. Strange things happen to me around people like you. I experience unceasing happiness, periodically lose my memory, bodily sensations are very strong, I practically do not sleep ... It is very comfortable to be with some forms, what does it all depend on?

Sita: You have a baby?

Answer: Yes.

Sita: So you were pregnant at some point. Have you talked to your pregnant friends?

Answer: Communicated.

Sita: What were you talking about? About pregnancy. And about everything connected with it. All pregnant women talk about pregnancy and their unborn child, about what is happening around it. When you are pregnant, you talk about the child, about the family, about the upcoming birth and upbringing.

A man who has not awakened is pregnant by himself. He bears himself. And so all he can talk about is himself. He cannot talk about the world because he does not actually see it. He sees this world through himself, he looks at the picture and says: "Ugly." He cannot look objectively, he looks through himself. He is still pregnant with himself. He looks at some world, some object, some situation, and he looks only at himself. And he says: "Wrong, they don't do that!". That is, in any situation, he looks at himself, he sees only himself, he is still pregnant with himself.

If you have already had a child and he has grown, or is growing, then you are no longer so interested in dating pregnant girls. Because she's all about it, about how it's going to be - she's worried about things that shouldn't be. But now you know that you don't have to worry about it, it's getting easier and easier. But she does not know yet and she is only interested in her condition. And it doesn't interest you anymore. She is worried about what her child will be, but you are no longer worried - he already is.

A person who sleeps and is pregnant by himself worries about what future awaits him, what tomorrow will be like, what his life will be like in 10 years. He does not yet fully see himself, he still lives within himself.

And so when you start to communicate with him, he is preoccupied with himself. And he is inadequate in his comments. And you cannot communicate normally with him, because he will evaluate everything through his stomach, literally through his stomach, because all that a person is interested in is his life. In Russian, the words "life" and "belly" used to mean the same thing.

A person cares only about his own survival, his own saturation, and he looks at everything only through this. Therefore, you experience difficulty communicating with such a person. Perhaps later, over the years, you will understand that you can communicate normally ... and when your child is the same age as this pregnant woman. When approximately as many years pass as they are, then you will be able to understand and feel what is happening.

It is still early, apparently, and some time must pass. For the time being, you see the person as separate and you don't feel his situation, you don't feel his preoccupation with yourself, because you are still preoccupied with yourself to some extent. Because your child has just been born and you say: "He is this, he is this, he is this ...", and the one who is pregnant with himself, he cannot talk about the child - he wants to talk about his stomach, and you're talking about the baby - you don't want to talk about the stomach. And now you do not find each other.

And when you get tired of singing songs to yourself, and now you sang a song to yourself for three minutes (the girl talked about herself for a long time and eventually asked a question), when this happens, then you will be able to feel and understand reality more broadly. Then something more permanent than the state you have can happen.

The first thing that happens is awareness. It is very similar to awakening, but do not rush to draw conclusions. Until the full happiness of life has come, the full wide-spreading infinite joy, do not rush to call yourself awakened. Because when you talk about the fact that there are so many awakened ones - I would be glad if it were so - but there are a lot of those with whom awareness happened, and awareness is not yet the final awakening.

Therefore, do not rush to put an end to it and enlist yourself somewhere, or enroll others somewhere, in awakened or unawakened, and somehow put your state somewhere on the shelf. Just observe this world, observe yourself, be aware, and if you feel that it is familiar to you, stay in this state, get used to it, and it will bring you many more discoveries. And one day the moment will come when you will be able to say: "Yes, it happened!", but there will be no one to say.

One day the moment will come when you will be able to say: “Yes, it happened!”, but there will be no one to say.

Feeling that there is no point in living

Question: The feeling that there is no point in living. That is, not a desire to die, but a misunderstanding of why to live. It seems that you live, it seems that you are doing something, but the feeling that everything is empty, everything is meaningless ... Periodically, it seems, you are distracted by some things and, it seems, everything is fine, but you still return to this state, when you don’t understand why ... a feeling, misfortune or something.

Someone says that you need to find yourself - in a profession, in a relationship, in something else - maybe this is so, I seem to be making some attempts, but I can’t achieve this. I do not see that I am somehow moving forward, what is getting easier, what is getting better. Do I need to continue to search, or vice versa - to give up everything and understand that nothing is needed?

Sita: Have you ever ridden on such a machine with magnets? Such a platform on which many cars drive and crash. Have you ever driven into the corner of this site? Don't you remember already? If you drove into a corner and press the pedal, then you can’t leave, it seems to be a dead end, everything is pointless, because press, don’t press - you are at a dead end! And you can only go forward, because there is only the gas pedal and there is no reverse gear. How to get out of there?

You need to give gas and turn the steering wheel more, and at some point it turns back and you leave. The steering wheel spins 360 degrees there, and therefore if you turn more and more and more, and press the gas, then in the end you fly out of there like a rocket.

It's very simple - keep doing what you're doing in life - keep going, keep going, keep going. You ended up in a dead end - fine, and once in a dead end, you hung on the steering wheel and watch how others live. So you can stand all this minute - for them this minute lasts like 10 seconds, but for the one who stands in the corner - a very long time.

The game, of course, is short, and life is also short, and whoever is older knows that it flies very, very quickly. If you realize this at any age, that you can try to live more actively - give gas and twist - in the end you leave!

Tale of two frogs

The same story was about two frogs that got into sour cream. There, two frogs got into a jug of sour cream and made butter.

One of them decided "well, that's it!", She smeared herself in this sour cream in an attempt to jump out of this jug, but she could not get out. And she says: "Well, there is no point in floundering like that, this pool does not let us go. That's it, we are gone! I'm tired, I'm tired, there is no point," and drowned.

And the other one had energy and she says: “No, I won’t give up!”, and tried to get out, get out, get out and in the end she felt what was soft and insecure began to harden, and pushing herself, she was able to jump out.

That's how you are. Continue!

Answer: I'm more like a second frog, I continue...

Sita: One who looks like another frog, he cannot come here. They realized that this makes no sense, why come here if everything is pointless? And you have hope, so you came - you are floundering, maybe lazily, but you are floundering. If someone found out that there is a satsang where you can recognize yourself - "yes, why?" - this is the frog that goes to the bottom. You're not going, that's why you're here.

Answer: I was just talking about the one that flounders.

Sita: Yes, you are floundering. Here everyone is floundering. There are also those who climbed out - they sit on the edge and say: "Come on, come on, come on! It's real."

Anything - flounder and arms and legs - anything. If you consider any moment in life, it has no meaning. That is, does it make sense to flounder the frog with his left paw? No. Right paw? No, it's too liquid. Right foot? No. Left foot? It doesn't make sense either, nothing makes sense.

But in general, she continued to do everything, because she saw the blue sky and she wanted to go there, she loved life so much that she wanted to go there. And she did not think about what was below, she thought about what was ahead of her, she was burning with the desire to return. Maybe she had kids so she didn't give up, maybe she had friends so she didn't give up, maybe she just loved the world and she liked life so she didn't give up.

The one who does not give up, he loves something, at least a little, at least a little, and for this he will flounder. Maybe you love something - maybe you love music, maybe you love nature, maybe you love your family or someone else - then you will do it.

You may at some point accidentally turn around in such a way that you lose the sense of the meaning of life when you drive a car on an attraction. But your further life activity will give you the opportunity to leave. At some point, you will turn the steering wheel and ... you will drive out.

Question: You just said, "Don't think about the future,"

Sita: To whom did I say so? It was the girl who said it, I don't make recommendations. I generally don't give advice. There is no possibility of being in the present moment or not in the present moment, because the present moment is always there. It all depends on where you are.

If your attention is in the present moment, you feel life is complete and you feel the happiness of all your experiences and sensations. If your attention is in the future, then almost always you are suffering, whether you see that you are suffering or not. When you dream of something "good", you may not see how you create suffering.

For example, for such roses to grow in my garden (points to roses), it takes at least three years, probably, right? You need distance. And I will be disappointed, I will be digging in the ground for half a year or a year before such roses can appear, before I learn how to grow such roses. I'll be disappointed until they show up, and then they show up and will I be fascinated by them, or can I say, "It wasn't worth it!"? And the same will be disappointed, as usual.

So I can't say "live in the present" or "live in the future". If you are in the present right now, for which there is an opportunity, but you do not know how to use it, then you are happy. If you are in the future, then you are unhappy, no matter how full of hope you are, no matter what dreams you build related to the future, you are already unhappy. Even if the future is encouraging, you are already unhappy because you spend time in dreams, in thoughts.

But I can't tell you "live in the present", I can show and point it out, and maybe it will get your attention. Like a magician doing something just to get your attention. While the handkerchief is in his jacket pocket, you do not notice this handkerchief, then he takes it out and all your attention is on his handkerchief. Because you're waiting to see what happens next with it, you know that it can show something interesting.

You came here, so you are waiting for life to show you something interesting. Life is a magician. I'm just pointing to life, pointing to life. The point here is not what to do or not to do, but whether you see or not, and now you can see. It's not a matter of action. Being in the present is not a matter of action. Therefore, I do not recommend to anyone and do not say be in the present or anything else (Like all realized masters, Arthur Sita contradicts himself, there is a video on our website in which Arthur recommends being here and now).

Woe from Wit

Question: Yes, here I am most likely grief from the mind. I have three children, I live in a rented apartment, without a husband, and besides, I was left without a job. Very serious thoughts and emotions boil inside me, there is fear about tomorrow, because I myself am responsible for my whole life, for my family. And now you say not to think about anything at all ...

Sita: I don't say so. I say what is when you are in the present. And there is when you are in your thoughts. But I am not suggesting that you choose any of these. Who would I be if I offered you another choice? You can’t decide how to live anyway, and I’ll also tell you how to live.

I can't force you to choose. It's just an option. This moment is an option. If you see him, you will choose him without my advice. Because you will see a diamond among stones. You choose the present moment. Now tell me your situation.

Question: I am now looking for ways out of this situation. I understand that God has already rewarded me for the fact that I have wonderful children and they make me happy, but the feeling of responsibility gnaws at me a little.

Sita: It is not a sense of responsibility that gnaws at you, but tomorrow. In fact, tomorrow in your situation can invigorate you, or it can give you despondency. Despondency from which you feel tired and doomed.

And as in the case of the second frog, she felt hopeless, but she was invigorated by the sight of the sun and the sky above her head. The situation of hopelessness was both with that frog and with you. But that frog survived, and so will you.

If this attitude “what else can I do?” appears in your life, then everything will turn out by itself. So you're just looking - is there anything else I can do? Not? Done. And good. And then you have nothing to think about, for today I have everything I could, I have already done. When such a look appears, it will be good, it will be easy.

When it will appear now, tomorrow, in a month or in a year, we do not know. This is a matter of fate, a matter of many factors. But as soon as attention stops in the present moment, freezes for a moment, and for another moment, for another moment, and for another moment, when suddenly something switches and strength appears in you, something appears in you that is really hope, almost certain that everything will be fine. And so it will be.

This has almost nothing to do with you. And of course it happens spontaneously and unexpectedly. Everything that could be done to make the awareness of the present moment happen and your attention completely merged into the present, from tomorrow, from guessing how it will be there, from worrying about the past, about how it could happen that I ended up in this situation, when attention will fully integrate into the present moment, then you will see both resources and forces and a possible path for the next step. You may not see the path itself, but you will definitely see where to take the next step. A light will light up in you from which you will see where to take the next step.

In order for your attention to be able to break through at the present moment, you don’t need to do anything special. You came here, and if you are interested in being in the present moment, then at some point you will hear the silence of the present moment, the silence in which my voice sounds. This silence is not physical, it is such an intangible space. Just at some point you will feel that it suddenly became quiet. In your soul, inside yourself, you will feel that it suddenly became quiet and light.

And if this happens, if you see that your mind is silent, that nothing bothers you, in life in general, right now, then be aware of this state, stay in it.

It's like a passage, like a door - if you touch the walls, you keep touching, touching, touching, then at some point your hand falls through - go in this direction, where the hand falls through and you find yourself free.

Similarly, here - as soon as your mind is silent and you have no thoughts, no thoughts, no words sound in you, as soon as you see this gap in the internal dialogue, in the internal conversation - go towards this gap with your attention, watch it the silence of your mind, fall into that silence of your mind and you will fall out in the present moment. It's like a pipe, like a tunnel into which you fly.

Once your mind is silent, watch its silence. Observe the void that has formed where your inner voice has been speaking all the time. The inner voice of a person all the time pronounces everything, pronounces and pronounces, or comments: "Good, bad, right, wrong."

But if you find that he is just silent and there is no conversation inside, then put your whole attention into that, into that emptiness, into the emptiness of your mind. That's all that's going to happen for a start. A failure into thoughtlessness, a failure into inner silence - inside you the mind is silent, the conversation is silent.

In order to silence the conversation inside you, I do everything here. Your business is to come here, maybe choose a suitable place and ask a question, if there is one - I do everything else here. At some point, noticing that it is quiet in your head, you are in this silence and stay, be aware of this silence.

Answer: I feel this silence.

Sita: Then feel.

Answer: I see you now, and I hear your voice.

Sita: Okay, so be it. I would say that my voice sounds in you, it is heard in the space of your attention.

That is, if your voice is silent inside you, then instead of your voice, my voice sounds in your head, close your eyes and you will check it. If this happens, it means that you are now empty inside and your mental dialogue or monologue has stopped. And this is a precious moment. It's like being on the threshold leading from prison to freedom. That is, you are standing on the threshold now, in such an opening where there are no walls. This opening itself is not yet freedom, but it leads to freedom.

And if you stay in it, then something will pull you there. Some fresh breeze, some freshness from there will beckon you and you will take a step into this silence even deeper. If your mind is already silent, you will want to look there again, and again, and still into this space of silence within. Because it is tempting, it gives you a rest from yourself, a rest from the mind - this is the most valuable thing that can be for a modern person - a rest from the mind, at least for a moment, not to mention more.

Therefore, your phrase began like this: "Woe from Wit." It did not start today, as far as we can judge, even in the 19th century they wrote about it - Griboedov - and he was not new in this. She has spoken many times before.

How to overcome a creative block

Question: I am engaged in creativity and for the last couple of years I have had some kind of creative crisis, a stupor, maybe it's laziness, I can't do my job. I was always waiting for some kind of push, I didn’t really listen to any advice, but maybe you can offer something?

Sita: And I don’t give advice at all, because, in my opinion, all advice is stupid. You can look at something together, discuss something, but tell a person how to do it, namely, how to see life, how to relate to life ... how to do some physical things is one thing, but how to relate to life - it's different.

If someone asks me how to make tea or how to grow a rose - if I know, I will tell you how to do it. And how to see the beauty of a rose - I can not say. I cannot give advice of an impractical nature not related to objects. How to make tea - I can say, but how to enjoy tea - I can't say, I don't know that.

How to be creative - I can not say, but if I could draw and you asked how to draw some kind of stroke - I would show you. What I can do, I show how it's done, but it's all about objects. If someone asks to teach me how to drive a car - I can do it, but if he says teach me how to drive a car well - I can't do it.

Answer: I seem to be able to do all this, but something slows me down, something stops me.

Sita: This may be. Perhaps now something is ripening and it has not yet matured inside you, has not exploded, has not come out. Perhaps you are still in the process, which will soon bear fruit.

The story of the caterpillar

About 4 years ago I was presented with a caterpillar at Satsang. Such a large, finger-thick, 10-15 centimeters in length. It then grew and after a while suddenly changed in color - it was green, but it turned orange and stopped moving. She ate a lot - ate, ate, ate, ate - I fed her all the time, she ate only ash leaves. And so I had to look for an ash tree so that the leaves were fresher. In addition, she hardly slept. I woke up at night to check on her - she lived in such a transparent box - she ate, ate, ate, ate ...

Then at some point she calmed down, I thought the leaves were yesterday and she does not want to eat. He ran away, brought her new leaves, put them under her nose - ignores. And then it changed, became orange, I think: "Well, that's it - I overate." And she froze, I touch her - she died, really the caterpillar died. But we did not throw her away, we left her, what if something happens to her? We just changed the leaves for her, pick new ones, remove the old ones, pick new ones, remove the old ones.

And then at some point they looked and she suddenly, before our eyes, began to turn brown, from orange to brown, and almost turned black all over. And suddenly it began to move and this brown caterpillar was completely torn apart. It just broke and a butterfly crawled out. Such a big butterfly and very fluffy.

She got out of the cocoon and still does not understand who she is and what she is. She came to life, she was born, but she does not know who she is and what she is - you can pick her up and play with her. But she screams, very strong and very loud, and it's surprising, because I didn't even imagine that it was possible. She squeaks really loudly.

Our cat was excited and excited. He was pissed off and wanted to catch her. Our cat is very calm, indestructible in general - he is always silent, he never made a sound, but then he began to meow. Maybe he was delighted with her, maybe something else - it's not clear.

But at first this butterfly did not understand what had happened to her. And we did not understand what happened to the caterpillar when it came to life. But when she felt cramped in the cocoon, she began to move and the cocoon began to stretch, it turned black because it began to stretch. And when the place was already small, the cocoon burst and she got out.

And as such, there was no cocoon, she did not weave a cocoon, it was just the caterpillar itself that dried up, its skin dried up and a folded butterfly formed inside, it is not known how. She did not live long, but brightly.

And it was interesting precisely because it seemed that the caterpillar ate, ate, ate and lay down to die - everything was over for her.

That's how you sometimes get to the point where you say: "That's it, a dead end! Life has no meaning anymore." There is no point in eating, there is no point in sleeping and you relax. In fact, you just come to the stage when your chrysalis will freeze. And something else is born inside you, something new. When there is not enough space for him, then he will straighten out. And it will be a completely different being, unlike who you think you are and how you know yourself.

Some time will surely pass, but the events taking place in this time are unknown to you. Maybe you will wake up right now and it will be some time before you begin to understand, or maybe you will wake up after a while. In all cases it is different.

Maybe all the necessary processes have already happened to you and you are ready to wake up. Or maybe you are still at the beginning of maturation for this, and you really have something wonderful in your life that I still cannot fully feel. There must be some meaning in life and it must be beautiful, I just can’t fully feel it.

Maybe this is so and this is the beginning of your peering, peering into life. There must be some meaning in your actions, in your design, some kind of far-reaching purpose, and you must definitely feel it so that your creativity is free when you paint a picture. The very purpose of this picture should go somewhere far away, into eternity. And if it is, of course, just to get money for it, then sooner or later your interest begins to end.

Because when you just place an order for money, it's good, but you do something mortal, it doesn't go anywhere, it just ends at the moment of money. And even doing it is not so interesting, somehow ordinary.

But when money just measures the moments of life ... like a second hand, it does not break time - 9, 10, 11, 12 - so you earn 9 thousand, 10, 11, 12 thousand, it doesn't change anything, it's just an arrow , which is spinning and then again - 1, 2, 3, but it can already be with a different zero.

About acceptance

Question: I have a question about acceptance. That is, to accept events, to accept what does not depend on me, but happens, and at the same time I do not like it.

Sita: Now, when you started speaking, the sound of the microphone was gone. It's something few people like when they want to express their thoughts, but you accepted it and continued to speak. Even without paying attention to it, right? You just accepted it as a fact, imperceptibly to yourself, so you have acceptance, you know how to accept.

Question: When I was about to ask a question, I didn’t think that I couldn’t do it, I just couldn’t receive. It doesn’t work out in work, in relationships, it can be some everyday moments, or there can be some painful situations, for example, death or some other pain.

And when something like this happens, I resist it so much, I get so angry, it makes me feel even worse. And I remember what I need to accept, but I can’t, and there is only anger and resistance.

Sita:(Interrupting the woman) Let me now ease your question and your anguish. Here someone said earlier today that in order to receive, in order to be aware, in order to be out of the mind, you first need to have it happen to you. Being in a state of mind, you cannot accept what you do not like. Because in itself the assessment "does not like" is already a denial. Then you will try to accept what you already deny. And that only adds to the denial.

This is like if you take a hot frying pan, and then to make it less painful, bring the fan to your hand, but you will hold the frying pan, and you will keep it on fire, and you will blow the fan over this matter. It doesn't change your burn.

Let go. But you can't let go. In your state of mind, you cannot let go of a situation that you did not like. The deed is done, you did not like it, now you cannot accept it (the situation), whether you like it or not, you have already crossed it out, broken it.

And there is nothing to do here, you find yourself already in a state of mind, gradually in childhood. And then you live already in a state of mind, there is no further possibility to accept, you continue to accept only what you like and nothing more. And you would like to accept also what you don't like, but in the state of mind it is impossible.

That's why I'm not talking here about how to take, that's why I'm not giving any advice - take or don't take - it's not possible in the state of mind. You will simply torture and rape yourself in an attempt to accept something.

If you are in a state of mind, then you cannot accept, it is not given in the mind. The mind simply cuts off some phenomenon. For example, a person has died and you say: "No, this should not be." If you already know that this should not be, then after that you will not say anything. Your next thought about this phenomenon will not solve anything, it will not change anything.

Therefore, it is futile to try to accept what you do not like if you do not like something. And this is the main torment of a person when he enters the so-called spiritual world. You are trying to be aware, which is impossible; you are trying to accept, which is impossible. Acceptance is not action, acceptance is the joy of being, in spite of everything, in spite of what happens, you still feel joy. The right event happens, the wrong event happens, it doesn't change anything in you, you remain the same in all events.

Even if you cry when someone has died, even if you are sad when someone has died, this is not a denial, it is rather a manifestation of your love for the one who died, this is a celebration, this is your love for those who have lost it man and now they will not be able to see him. Your compassion, your complicity, but this is not grief. It is your joy to love someone who is no longer there. This is not a denial of the fact of death, this is not a struggle, this is not a dispute with life - "Why did you take him from us?". This fact has already been accepted at once. And if you get sick or someone gets sick, then you do not deny this fact, but look at what can be done.

And you can't learn it, don't ask me how - you can't learn it. I won't answer any of the "how" questions, because you can't learn anything, you can just find the silence in you now. I will point to what you already are, constantly, and if you see it, acceptance will be a pleasant surprise in this phenomenon, a bonus.

You will see yourself and that in itself is a joy. And this vision of oneself, this being oneself allows one to accept various situations. It does not matter what character - negative, positive - to accept and what to do with it. If someone died, maybe you help with something, if someone fell, you help to get up, if you fell, you get up. If such a situation is now developing with children, with a house, with something else, you look at the possibilities. But such a view is possible only in the present moment. It will be productive in any case, and even your actions, for example, tears, are productive. Everything will be productive in the state of the present moment that happens to you. Even if something upsets you, even if something makes you angry, it will be productive, at least you may not be angry - you will see that this anger is not needed and it goes away. It's more productive to do something about it, if there is something to do. Your resentment of the past is not productive, you are looking at what you can do.

Question: I'm listening to you now and I have an inner feeling that I understand what it is, that I feel what you're talking about.

Sita: Try to catch it, try to catch attention in the present moment. It's just that. And you will immediately understand, find out what is at stake.

You look at me, and I keep saying: "Roses, roses, roses, pink roses, red roses" and at some point you see: "Ahhh, there they are, right in front of him!". I will talk about something all the time and at some point you will see: "So it has always been here!".

Question: So you don't have to try internally? I'm listening to you and it seems to me that I understand, and then my mind turns on and asks: "How can I enter this state?" And I begin to search with my mind: "How can I enter into this? How can I become this? How can I feel this way? How can I be?"

Sita:"How" won't help. Your question "how" is relevant only in the objective world, not in the subjective one. It will not help in the world of emotions, feelings, but will be useful only with physical objects, it refers to physical objects. For example, how to put a cup so that it does not fall? Like this. How to take a cup when it's hot? The child may ask such a question. And you're talking like this, by the hand.

Therefore, how to be happy, how to accept, how to rejoice, how to see the present moment - there are no answers to these questions. What is the present moment? This is what we can talk about. And how to see it? You see him all the time. It's just a matter of what are you looking at? In the state of mind you are tossing - back and forth, back and forth, back and forth - all the time you are tossing, inside the present moment.

I can only answer the question "How to see the present moment?" - just calm down. Just calm down and stop looking for anything. But if it is possible, then it will happen to you here anyway, it is not your concern. And if you do not want to calm down, then you will not calm down no matter what I do and no matter what you do. The mind will jump and jump and jump.

Artur Sita is an enlightened master from Russia, also known as "Living Presence". Artur conducts satsangs in Russian in Russia, Ukraine and India. It is open to everyone who is ready to touch the truth and feel the taste of living presence.

And enlightenment comes when you don't expect it at all.

Enlightened master Arthur Sita answers questions about how It came to him.

I remember hearing you once talk about how enlightenment happened to you after a fight in a nightclub... something like that?

Something like that)

-This is true?

And so and not so. Something really happened, you can call it a kind of epiphany. That was not an intellectual insight, no, it was an insight into reality, into the fact that while living life, a person almost never fully perceives. We can say that a person sees the world through glasses that fucking distort everything that he looks at. It can also be said that a person walks in some kind of invisible headphones, where the same voice of an unknown announcer constantly sounds, a commentator who is never silent, and a person actually does not hear the world, only some fragments coming through that voice. It could be said that a person feels, perceives this world as if he is in some kind of spacesuit. If you try to imagine how you would perceive the world through an astronaut's space suit... perhaps the world is also usually perceived by a person. And insight is like being without such a spacesuit for a moment or for some short period ... the indescribable freshness of everything: colors, sounds, sensations .. and being.

-How did it happen?

In the hospital, where he ended up after a fight in a nightclub.

- So you really fought?)) I can’t believe it ...

No, I didn’t fight that time, I just got a strong blow to the head, maybe
one, or maybe several, but after which he woke up completely without remembering anything about what happened, he just stood and looked at himself in the mirror .. it seems blood was flowing from his mouth. Then he ended up in the hospital. These were the days of some kind of holidays, everyone was resting and there were no specialist doctors for several days, so I just lay alone in the ward, or almost alone. Someone came and spoke to me, but I could not speak, because of the injuries received in the fight, my mouth practically did not open, so I just watched and listened. Not being able to answer something ... this was a very unusual situation for me. And literally immediately it became clear that since I can’t answer anything, but what people tell me, it makes no sense to think about all this ... why, if you still can’t influence the course of events in any way? Realizing the complete impotence to somehow influence the course of life events, I just lay and looked at the ceiling, looked at people who came and said something to me ... at that moment I began to see how a person says one thing, but feels completely different, and that emotions , which a person shows on his face ... it was more like masks. It was surprising, even stunned, so much so that even when, after a few days, my mouth began to open more or less, I could not speak to anyone. It was a strange feeling, looking at people who play some roles, perhaps it was even scary, I suddenly felt lonely, because everything around seemed not to be alive at all, but ... like dolls or something or robots .. it's hard to say how it is felt then, because it was a long time ago. I couldn't talk to anyone, neither to those who were considered friends, nor to those who considered themselves relatives, I didn't feel any connection with anyone at all... total loneliness. After returning from the hospital, I also could not communicate with anyone, could not actually do anything, just sat and looked out the window ... as far as I remember, I did not even eat. Day after day I sat and was silent, listening to the silence of life .. A strange, and probably at the same time blissful state ... Then I knew nothing about meditation or anything like that ... there were no explanations, just peace, no thoughts, no desires. .complete silence of life. Later, I remembered that something similar, only under more favorable conditions, several years before, had already happened in my life.

What happened earlier, a few years before that? And what does it mean
"favorable circumstances"?

I remember this even more vaguely) It was probably about fourteen years old .. I stood in
my room.. it was summer, the window was fully open. The view outside the window was very beautiful: green and flowering fields, on the horizon, leaving in a clear blue sky. I was studying wushu at that time, and decided to do a little work on one of the elements of this system, gypsy. It's kind of like a breathing exercise. Standing in the middle of the room and looking out the window, I smoothly raised and lowered my hands, while watching the body breathe calmly. Suddenly, at some point, when the hands went up, there was something like a pop, but without a sound .. at the same time, the space strangely changed, the shapes of everything changed, while remaining the same .. that the hands disappeared at the same time, as if they disappeared, and not only the hands .. there was a complete absence of the sensation of the body, the sensation of “I-body”, and even “I” in general. There was only a look, a look the size of the whole world .. How would you describe it? After all, the whole world died down and came to life at the same time. Huge, immeasurable peace and it is alive, very alive, but it is alive not by the movement that takes place in life, it is alive by the very eternity of being. Of course, then I could not express it like that, but still I tried))
After some time, my brother asked me that I was somehow strange
I looked and asked what was wrong with me. I did not know what to answer, because I have no idea
had what he was talking about, because there was no “me” at that moment
existed. But in some strange way, the answer still sounded:
Everything is there, but there is no “me” ... I am not.
A few more days or weeks after that, there were some
experiences that are a consequence of what happened, something that is likely
called the term "spiritual experiences" There was absolutely no understanding of what was happening. The world appeared .. how to explain it ... in the highest degree Alive and calm.

And after this experience at fourteen, did you forget for a while?)) And the next time it came to you ten years later?

Yes and no. I studied, was engaged in business, something else ... but one way or another, from time to time there were some breakthroughs into the present.

- What are you doing now?

Nothing, just answer questions. After all, for me Now, it means Now, there is no other.
Now I'm answering your questions

-)

— in the presence of Truth. Meetings, questions and answers, a space where questions merge with answers, losing their importance and meaning. Presence. Love. Joy. 🙂 Quotes, words from satsangs.

See through the words and the sentence, see into the presence and the silence between the words.

Be sincere— that's probably my method. Be sincere in everything: in what you do, in what you say, in how you do it. Don't leave anything for later. Your sincerity cannot be disliked by anyone. Sincerity likes so much that you are loved just like that. Sincerity- this is the radiance of love, this is the radiance of God, it cannot but be liked. She can ruin your career. She can spoil what torments you. If your career is tormenting you, sincerity will ruin it. If your family torments you, sincerity will spoil it. You will not suffer from this in the least, the family will not suffer in any way. You will free people from yourself, from your lies - that's all. © Arthur Sita

There are moments in which a person does not think about anything, does not reflect, does not evaluate, but there are not so many of them. We call these moments happy. This is the moment when you completely remain where your body is, remain here. This is a feeling of happiness, a state of love, peace.

Immerse yourself in the sensations of life, whatever they are. Completely, totally, one hundred percent. Immerse yourself in everything that now exists, completely, in yourself. this moment… Layer after layer, the mind falls off, layer after layer… Don’t stop, dive completely until the feeling of yourself and the desire to avoid the situation disappear… Suddenly, no situation exists: the same person is here, the same conditions are here, but no situation exists, you yourself . © Arthur Sita

Live with taste is simply to feel what is felt and do what is being done, to follow life itself, its flow, without struggle or conflict. The only thing a person wants is happiness, and happiness is the absence of conflict, the absence of desire, it is the peace of the being, the peace of existence. Having found peace, all actions are performed in peace, without conflict. © Artur Sita You're waiting for something special to happen. There is no need for anything to happen. You cannot happen, you are already there. Discovery happens in satsang. People are always very happy when they discover themselves. In the East, masters are called a mirror - you just see yourself. You try to grasp it, and only thanks to the fact that you don’t see anyone there but yourself, and in this person you don’t meet another person and you don’t have anyone to fight with, you only meet yourself in him - awareness happens. You realize that you are the only one. In that moment the person disappears, the seeker disappears, the search disappears, but you find the one who was looking for. And this is true happiness, in fact ... This is the only true happiness in fact. © Arthur Sita

The sky is always free. If your gaze directed to the sky looks only at the clouds themselves, then the sky seems closed, limited, not free. But that's just how it seems. If your gaze directed at life looks only at names and forms, then the world seems limited, not free. But that's just how it seems. Clouds always float in the open space of the sky, just as thoughts float in the open space of your Presence. © Arthur Sita

Arthur Sita: "Two hundred million enlightened ones!"

Arthur Sita can be called the most paradoxical Advaita Master. He seems to have no definite teaching, no system. He almost never repeats himself, one day he can say one thing, and the next - the exact opposite. The concepts he utters are purely momentary in nature and are voiced based on a specific request that arises in the moment (although some "recurring" themes, such as "mindfulness", "silence of the mind", "observation" can be found). At the same time, a very strong presence is invariably felt during Arthur's satsangs. It is felt in what is behind the words, in the silence between the words.

In Tiruvannamalai (India) in January-February of this year, Arthur's satsangs were held almost every day. I happened to be in Thira at that time (coincidentally) and began to come to these satsangs, in a cafe called German Bakery. I was drawn there by an impression that can be described in just one word: naturalness. Natural person. All movements, gestures, words, intonations, reactions of Arthur look absolutely natural.

When I told him about wanting to interview him, he agreed. But then a month passed, and we still could not agree on the time and place. In the end he said: "Do it right during satsang, because we often just keep silent." I replied, “Usually during Satsangs, I don’t feel like asking you any questions at all. I just have no questions at this time, everything is clear. And especially when we are silent, I certainly do not want to break this silence at all. But I'll try."

A few days later I tried. Arthur was asked a couple of questions that day, and then there was a long silence in the air. This often happened at Arthur's satsangs in Tiru: if no questions come from the audience, Arthur simply remains silent until someone asks a question. It was my last day in Thira, and I thought that if not now, then there would be no other suitable moment. And he began to ask questions.

Since this happened during Satsang, the conversation still retains all the formal features of Satsang to a greater extent and is less like a traditional interview or a magazine conversation. So, for example, despite the fact that the questions come from me, Arthur periodically addresses the entire audience at once (“you”), and sometimes directly to me (“you”). Arthur's habit of making long pauses between sentences was exacerbated in this case by the pauses necessary for the translator to translate his words into English. However, there were also longer pauses, which in the text I separately designate with the words “pause” and “silence”.

Gleb Davydov: Arthur, when I arrived here a month ago, the first question I asked was: “how can you calm the mind?” Then you talked about contemplation, and then you mentioned that there is another, simpler way. About which you promised to tell some more. But it seems you haven't talked about him for this month. Can you now give any other recommendations for calming the mind, in addition to observation, contemplation? The mind is sometimes very captivating to me. And even when there is observation, you involuntarily get involved in some thoughts that seem very strong and intrusive. And it seems that with the help of observation these thoughts do not disappear.

Your question was: "how to calm the mind?". And I couldn't give the technique of calming the mind, because I don't know it. Mind, it is like the wind, and the wind cannot be calmed down. There are two options. Or you are struggling and trying to resist the wind. That is, you are fighting an enemy that you do not see and whose source you do not know. (You don't see the wind and you don't know where it comes from. You only see space.) And there is a second method. The first method is called yoga: you fight with the wind, you fight with the mind. Don Quixote. And there is a second one. And I'm only talking about him: enjoy the wind. No matter how strong he is. There is no struggle in this. There is no condemnation in this. Only observation. Watching is not a struggle, it is not an attempt to stop the mind. This is an observation. This is not an attempt to stop the monkey. You won't catch up with her. It is an observation of what is happening. If you get carried away strongly, it is like suffering. If you watch, then suffering will pass you by. Thoughts don't take over. Thoughts are not intrusive. Thoughts are formed from love. The source of thoughts is love. So if you fight with thinking, you will kill the love in you. If you start fighting with thoughts, if you start fighting with the mind, you will kill your vitality and you will become dry, dead, alone, like monks. The word "monk" is derived from the word "loneliness". Monk is mono. He is alone. And you become dry and lonely, like a monk. You may have family, friends. But you don't have love. You don't love anything. You can conquer thoughts, stay without it for a while. But the mind cannot be defeated, because the mind will now exist in you as a tension. And you get dry. There is no life in this. So I'm only talking about observation. You observe what happens with your thoughts, with your assessments. With your desires to own something, to acquire, to become something.

GD: That is, I observe my EGO.

A.S.: What is called EGO, yes.

GD: But at some point, while observing my EGO and at the same time being in life, in the process of communicating with someone, I notice that ...

A.S.: What became it?

GD: Yes. I begin to feel identified with the self that is watching the ego. And this "observing self" also turns out to be the EGO. And here, at this point, the struggle begins.

A.S.: From which there is no way out. You want to get out, but there is no way out in this situation. Are you looking for a way out, looking for: how? as? how to disidentify with it? But no matter where you look, there is no chance.

GD: What to do?

A.S.: Watch this helplessness. When helplessness happens, be aware of this helplessness, this selfishness, this preoccupation with the situation, this interest in something. EGO is a very big interest in something: in a career, in relationships, in life. This is a very big interest. This is the EGO.

GD: But there is nothing wrong with that?

A.S.: No.

GD: However, when you are inside it and identify with it, suffering comes. And when you communicate with someone ... when people communicate with each other, at some point this communication comes down to the interaction of two egos, two sets of specific programs. AND...

At this moment, a very loud noise of a passing truck is heard from the street, and I have to pause in order not to shout over this noise. When the noise stops, Arthur says:

AS: And now you can speak calmly. You waited for that rumble to go away. A rumble that prevented you from speaking. And now you can speak freely. The tension of the EGO that arises in you, watch. And it will disappear. And then you live freely. Just watch. How did you not drive this car away, did not burn with the desire that it leave faster. You just were. Watched. Lived. Your life has not stopped for a moment. Has not lost its value while this car was noisily passing here. In the same way, when there is a noise in the head, you wait for it to “pass”, to pass. Watching. Just like watching the noise of the car outside, disinterested. You weren't interested in the car leaving. And when she left, the conversation became possible. A state of EGO, interest has come to you. Now the conversation becomes impossible. Wait until this state is gone, as it came. And then the conversation will again become possible. It comes and goes, just like the noise of a car. No matter how much time it takes.

(pause)

Watch. Buddhist monks sat watching the river flow. The Sufis watched the fire burn. Observe any course of life. Any. You can get out and watch the cars drive past you on the road. People are walking along the road past you. Stand in the middle of the city and watch. Beautiful, ugly, quiet, noisy - past you. Then move on to thoughts. Different thoughts - past you. Then emotions. And so - deeper and deeper, and deeper, and deeper. Then disidentification happens, when you see that everything that happens has nothing to do with you. Everything that happens is not you. What is happening in the world, what is happening in the world of the body, has nothing to do with you. You are just an observation of it all.

(pause)

Watch how thoughts happen. Do not cling to good thoughts, do not drive away bad ones. If the thought of death comes to you, do not drive it away. She will come, stay and leave. If the thought of love comes to you, do not hold it back, however beautiful it may be. It doesn't matter who comes to you - "demons" or "angels", "devas" or any other thoughts, "beings" - it doesn't matter. Skip them all.

GD: How to achieve sustainability in this? As I understand it, you have to start over all the time when you catch yourself getting involved in some process again. Does that mean you have to start watching again every time? Is it really possible to achieve sustainability by such a return to observation?

A.S.: Observation knows neither beginning nor end. It happens all the time. Even when there is a lot of interest in the situation and you are on fire, engulfed in the flames of life, there is also watchfulness in that.

GD: But at such moments the flames cover...

A.S .: But nevertheless, you see that the flame is covering. You are burning, engulfed in the fire of emotions, your emotions. You talk about something: "It's mine, I won't give it away." But still, you see everything that happens. This does not mean that you will immediately let go. You just see what madness is happening to you. "My Bottle" (at this moment Arthur has a bottle of juice in his hands). Then, when you let go of that bottle, the observation remains the same. Watching is indifference. It does not correct your mistakes. It indicates errors. It allows you to see the error as an error. It allows you to see stupidity as stupidity, to recognize stupidity, to recognize a mistake. But awareness does not change the situation or position.

GD: That is, it sees error and stupidity without judgment. Just see what's happening. But in this way, error and stupidity are no longer perceived as error and stupidity. Because the very concepts of "mistake" and "stupidity" are already a condemnation. But then how can it recognize something as "mistake" and "stupidity"? If it does not judge.

A.S.: This state of “my bottle” is a state of mind. And that means that in this situation your mind is active, and you can understand that: "This bottle is mine." And at the same time, you can understand how stupid it is: so much tension because of one bottle. But still - "she's mine!".

GD: But these are just two parts of the mind, two parts of the EGO that are fighting each other like this.

A.S.: And you observe it. There is a demon here that grabbed it and said: "Mine!" And there is an angel who says, “This is stupid. Why do you need this bottle? You have the whole world." The demon says, “This bottle is also mine. And the whole world is mine! And there is both an angel and a demon. God chooses neither one nor the other. God is watching this whole game. He is not on the side of either the angel or the demon. Angels and demons are equally powerful. None of them needs divine support. They cannot defeat each other. Each of them has their own weapon. Demons are very powerful. But angels cannot be defeated. That's why they're fighting each other here for that bottle. Angels are communists (everyone laughs). The angels say that everything belongs to everyone. Demons are democrats. These are the same root words - demons and democrats (everyone laughs. Arthur to the translator: translate-translate), all democrats are demons, all communists are angels. So as soon as an enlightened one appears, immediately a commune is formed. All the angels are gathering. But that's where the Democrats come in.

GD: Is the enlightened one in whom the angels have won? Or?..

A.S.: Enlightened is a bottle. (everyone laughs)

GD: Or the one who sees both demons and angels, and the bottle, and the fight for the bottle? Who is enlightened in this context?

A.S.: Lenin. (laugh)

GD: Was Lenin enlightened? (laugh)

AS: Lenin was a democrat. (laugh) . Real communists never make revolutions. Communists are immersed in love. They cannot be violent. Real communists never make coups. The most they can do is not go to work. Or unions. (pause) Watch it all and be divine. Your divinity is that you don't take sides. Don't kill your creativity. If you suppress the mind, you will suppress your creativity. Life will become boring, meaningless, superficial. Don't fight the mind, but don't feed it either.

GD: When we don't feed it, don't nourish it, can creativity also become weaker?

A.S.: No, then creativity only begins. Because when you feed your mind, your activity is only work, not creativity. She is primitive. Because you only give your mind what someone else has done. You are copying someone, you are repeating someone. There is no freedom in this. You feed your mind with what someone else has created. One hundred years ago, two hundred years ago, two thousand years ago. And it has been long gone. But you feed yourself two thousand on this. And everyone around. It's always the old approach, the old food. Creativity is born in freedom. In freedom from the known. In ignorance. In silence. And this silence reveals itself. observation. The more observation, the more silence you have. Observation is not an interruption of the process of life. If you communicate, then you communicate, be in it. But when you have had enough, then let there be silence. And watch your silence.

(pause)

Don't suppress your words. It won't be a revelation. It will be stupid meditation for many years. And you will never understand what silence is. The silence is amazing. That is why silence is called bliss. As a result of suppression, you will get a dull silence. Boring silence. If you suppress the mind, boredom will take over. It's not a problem. But there is too little beauty, too little life, too little love. Then you are confused, you don't know how to live, what to live for. When you talk a lot, when you think a lot, you realize that all this (this whole life of yours) does not make sense. When you suppress the mind, you feel the same thing: that the whole life is meaningless. But if you let the mind chatter and just watch one thought come and go, another come and go, and in between there is silence, life. Your mind is silent, life is noisy. A thought comes, life disappears for you. Thought leaves - life appears. These two phenomena replace each other. When there is thought, the world does not exist. When the thought leaves, the world appears. The world and thought never exist simultaneously. Or either. Either you see the thought, or you see the reality. As long as thoughts flash like this, constantly, you don't actually see life. You don't hear anyone, you are inside the thought. And you don't see the world for what it is.

GD: But what I see in the intervals between thoughts, it is also due to some patterns of perception that exist apart from thought. So this is no longer a reality.

A.S.: The absolute reality is the silence of your mind. Watch the silence of your mind. This is emptiness. This is absolute reality. Then there are no structures.

(silence)

Then you cannot say about this world whether it exists or not. So right? (silence) Whether he's real or not.

GD: Everything comes from this? (pause) Or does everything happen when the mind starts talking?

AS: Everything happens in this. Is always. Everything is always happening. Attention can slide - back and forth, back and forth. You can enter the house, leave the house, enter the house, leave the house. When you leave the house, you can say: my house exists in THIS world. When you enter the house and look through the window, you say: this world exists in my house. Yes. There is a mountain in my window, in the window of my house (looks at Arunachala). The whole world is in my house. After all, this mountain now belongs to the window. She is inside the window. So when you are inside the house, the whole world belongs to your house, it is inside your house. If you go out of the house, then the house is inside the world. Both of these are true. Perhaps the greater truth is when you come out of the house of the mind and see that your self, all your ideas about life are true, but very relative truth. They are part of this vast world. But when you are inside this house, then only the house exists for you. When you are out of the house, out of the mind, then you see that the truth is that your house, your mind is a small part of a huge world. But you need this house, and you are going back there. But when you return to this house, remember the truth that you discovered when you left this house one day. And do not believe that the mountain lives in your window. The window is too small to fit this mountain. But when you sit at home and look through the window, it seems that this is a small mountain. When you are in the mind, you look at many big things as small things. You look at love, and love seems to you just a certain feeling. Love seems like a small moment of your life to you. When you look out of the mind, when you are in the mind, life is distorted. What is really great and important in life, you see it as small and unimportant, insignificant. When you are at home, spoons, forks, mugs become important to you. All your toys. And you protect this world.

GD: Either I start seeing this mind as a prison. If I remember what's outside.

A.S.: Yes, but part of this illusion is the door. Part of the walls is a door. The house is an illusion. But the door that leads outside the house is part of this illusion. Start watching this house, start watching the mind. And you will see a space free from walls - a door, a passage. Once you start suffering a lot, you can always get out. Look at the suffering and you will see the way out. But then you have to leave all the forks and spoons. bottle. And become a communist. A real communist has nothing. Everything is common.

(silence)

So the USSR was a wonderful country. And the only thing: the whole religion was killed, but they did not give knowledge, the main knowledge - who are you? It is clear where to go: to a brighter future. But who is coming? And where? Where are you going from now? Where - we were told. And if we were helped to turn back to where we came from. If our attention were turned to where you came from, where the thought “I” came from, then all the work would be completed. Two hundred million enlightened ones!

(laugh)

GD: Well, they initially confused their heads with this bright future.

A.S .: No, it was not they who confused their heads. It is the Christians who confused their heads with a bright future. A bright future is an invention of Christianity. The communists only raised the banner of Christianity and carried it further. Instead of crosses, they carried banners. They replaced the word "paradise" with the word "socialism". And so communism really turned into a religion. This is secular Christianity. Without Jesus. Instead of Jesus, there was Lenin. Jesus ascended, Lenin froze. Therefore, we sang the song "Lenin is always ahead." Lenin is alive, Lenin lived, Lenin will live. This is the same thing that Christians sing about Jesus: he is with us, he is among us and he is waiting for us there. And the most important phrase: I will be there. This is the most important phrase of Christians.

GD: For many seekers of enlightenment who are now here in Tiruvannamalai, this phrase is just as relevant.

A.S.: There are no seekers here. There are no seekers here.

GD: Yes, there is. You enter Ramana Ashram and you immediately feel this spirit of searching for enlightenment.

A.S.: Well, you tell them: if you want to lose your hope, come to the German Bakery for Arthur Sita's satsangs. Why are you silent? Tell that people can come here and die. Why? Why are you so selfish?

GD: Well, I've already brought a few people to you. (laugh)

A.S.: I was joking. Those who need it will come. Such are the communists. That's why I say: angels are communists. And at their head is Jesus, Lenin. It's fine. In reality, our communism, our socialism, was Christianity. New Christianity.

GD: Alexander Blok wrote about this in his poem "12". It ends like this: “Jesus Christ is ahead.” He leads a detachment of twelve apostles of the Red Army.

AS: I mean that the hearts of the Soviet people were as pure as the hearts of people who saw Jesus. But Jesus was not among them. And if this could happen, then in fact everyone was ready. Two hundred million enlightened. It is amazing that almost all people were in this state. A lot of work was done: Lenin, Stalin, Brezhnev. A lot of work. (laughs) I'm serious. It doesn't matter anymore, it's just words, but it's a fact. The people had no hope. No hope for a brighter future. American ideologues called this time the "Great Stagnation". It's great. This was not a negative development. It was a wonderful event. The state of the body, mind, emotions was magnificent. Magnificent position. This is a great place to dive into the unknown. Everyone is afraid of enlightenment because there is too much knowledge. There is something to lose. And the Soviet people had nothing to lose. Everything is common. They stood on the edge of a precipice. Leading beyond the mind. And it was a great experiment. But the Christians ruined everything. Yes Yes. The whole of Christendom attacked communism. People were ready to wake up. Many, many, many poems and songs that were then written indicate that a person then came into contact with reality. Films, songs, poems of the 60s-70s-early 80s said that people are right on the doorstep, they breathe it. The films were made with love and about love. At the same time, the relationship between people in these films did not play a primary role, but it was just some kind of feeling that was important. that happened to man. And these films, incomprehensible, perhaps, to many people, they were understandable to Soviet people. I'm talking about the fact that even Soviet time when there was almost no religion, no god, most people stood on the threshold of self-realization. Many people had huge hearts. Friends and neighbors were treated like relatives. And this suggests that Jesus really was among these people, lived among them. With his commandment "Love your neighbor". And that was the main feeling, the feeling of togetherness. It was a real community. largest commune. But she died. For an even bigger commune to be born. The first commune was born by Lenin or someone else. The second commune is born through the Internet. World Commune. The USSR was a local commune. It had boundaries, it had some kind of ideology. And now a world commune is being born, where there are no borders. Where the only ideology is awareness, intelligence, wakefulness, beauty, joy. There is great meaning in all of this. And creativity is born. In a wide variety of areas. And in this new commune there are no borders, no leaders and no authorities. And when I talk about the Internet, I'm not talking literally about the Internet, but I'm talking about the opportunity that the Internet gives. It is easy to learn information, it is easy to move around the world, it is easy to communicate with each other.
To interpreter: say again "it's easy to communicate with each other."
The translator repeats: "to communicate with each other easily".
Communicate, this is the commune. The Internet is a commune, it connects. You connect with each other via the Internet. This is a real commune, universal. (pause) See you tomorrow!

Be sincere - that may be my method. Be sincere in everything: in what you do, in what you say, in how you do it. Don't leave anything for later.
Your sincerity cannot be disliked by anyone. Sincerity likes so much that you are loved just like that. Sincerity is the radiance of love, it is the radiance of God, it cannot be disliked.
She can ruin your career. She can spoil what torments you. If your career is tormenting you, sincerity will ruin it. If your family torments you, sincerity will spoil it. You will not suffer from this in the least, the family will not suffer in any way. You will free people from yourself, from your lies - that's all.

Immerse yourself in everything that now exists, completely, in the present moment itself ...
Layer upon layer the mind falls away, layer upon layer... Don't stop, dive in completely until the feeling of yourself and the desire to avoid the situation is gone...
Suddenly - no situation exists: the same person is here, the same conditions are here, but no situation exists, you are Life itself.

To live with taste is simply to feel what is felt and do what is done, to follow life itself, its flow, without struggle or conflict. The only thing a person wants is happiness, and happiness is the absence of conflict, the absence of desires, it is the peace of the being, the peace of existence. Having found peace, all actions are performed in peace, without conflict.

You're waiting for something special to happen. There is no need for anything to happen. You cannot happen, you are already there. Discovery happens in satsang. People are always very happy when they discover themselves.
In the East, masters are called a mirror - you just see yourself. You try to grasp it, and only due to the fact that you don’t see anyone there but yourself, and in this person you don’t meet another person and you don’t have anyone to fight with, you only meet yourself in him - awareness happens. You realize that you are the only one. In that moment the person disappears, the seeker disappears, the search disappears, but you find the one who was looking for. And this is true happiness, in fact ... This is the only true happiness in fact.
