Acrylic powder for strengthening nails. Biogel for strengthening

It is especially unpleasant when grown nails suddenly break. In such cases, gel strengthening of natural nails helps. Such a procedure can be carried out not only in beauty salons, but also carried out independently, which allows you to save money.

To understand whether it is necessary to strengthen nails with gel, you need to follow some rules. First- these are healthy nails, in the presence of fungal diseases, this procedure is not recommended, therefore it is necessary to cure the nail plate. The gel can contribute, as the access of oxygen is quite greatly reduced. Second rule- gel coating is recommended even with minimally regrown nails, especially if they are not particularly strong. And third- it is necessary to choose the material that is suitable for a particular type of nail plate.

Types of gels and their features

Strengthening nails with gel

Regular gel is almost identical in ingredients to extension gel. Strengthening nails with extension gel also takes place, but in this case, it is necessary to cut the nail plate, which can disrupt the structure of the nail.

Strengthening nails with a classic gel performs the function of protection. The layer allows you to seal the nails, so that damage is almost excluded. How to make gel nails stronger, you can read below, which will allow you to learn how to grow nails of the desired length. Most often, gel is used to strengthen nails under shellac, which was first invented in 2000.

Biogel strengthening

The biogel material is known for its gentle effect on the nail plate, but at the same time it perfectly protects it from damage and. Since such a gel contains many useful substances in its composition, nails can not only be protected, beautified, but also restore the structure.

Strengthening nails with gel under gel polish

Strengthening nails with gel polish is a cross between strengthening and decoration. Strengthening the nails with a gel polish base occurs according to the same technique as with a regular gel, but it will have to dry in a UV lamp. Such a manicure looks like natural and stylish nails.

The most popular and useful way to strengthen nails is biogel, which is usually divided into:

  • Transparent, which is the layer that acts as the base. This option is quick-drying, healing and firming;
  • Sculptural, which is an imitation of the natural color of the nail. This option moisturizes the nail plate and strengthens it;
  • Royal, which not only strengthens nails, but also gives a decorative look and curtained manicure;
  • UV gel, which is customary to use in the hot season, protecting from the action of sunlight.

Strengthening nails with acrylic under gel polish

Acrylic is a synthetic material that has the ability to reinforce what it is applied to. This material allows you to create different types of manicure and is suitable for all types of nail plate.

Strengthening nails with acrylic powder for gel polish allows you to not only strengthen your nails, but also nourish them with useful substances. After such a coating, the nails seem to come to life, acquiring a more saturated shade. The powder also makes the polish last longer.

Preparatory stage before applying the gel

It does not matter how the material is planned to be used, the main thing is the correct preparation for the gel strengthening procedure, without preparing the nails, the possibility of ruining the nails is high. Training is standard, not requiring special knowledge and items.

To prepare the nail plate, you need:

  • A special nail file (for natural nails, a soft one is needed to avoid damage), which will help to give the desired shape;
  • Buff with 4 sides;
  • Orange or other suitable sticks;
  • Nippers or a tool that will help remove.

Additional necessary items are oil remover and antiseptic.

When using the gel to strengthen natural nails, several preparation steps are necessary, which is a little more when using other types of gels. Stages of preparation:

  • After the nails have acquired the desired shape with a nail file, they should be polished with a buff, but you need to use a soft one to avoid brittleness and thinness in the future;
  • The next step is to remove the cuticle using nippers or a special tool, but you need to follow the instructions, as the procedure is quite dangerous and can damage delicate skin. Orange sticks are used to push back the cuticles, but before doing this, it is recommended to soften the cuticles in a special bath;
  • Next, you need to degrease the nails with a special material.

An antiseptic is necessary at all stages of preparation for the treatment of tools, hands and nails, so as not to infect.

When using gel polish or biogel, you can skip the nail polishing stage, simply degreasing them beforehand.

Strengthening nails with gel: step by step instructions

After the preparation has been fully completed, it is allowed to proceed to the main one - strengthening the nails. Provided that the design of the nails is not provided, the strengthening consists of 3 stages, each of which must be carried out according to the instructions, since the durability and quality of the final result depend on this.

  • First step. Applying a base on the nails, which is transparent and should be applied in a fairly thin layer. Dry in a UV lamp for 30-60 seconds (depending on the layer, the power of the lamp itself, as well as the quality of the base material). Strengthening nails with a single-phase gel involves the use of materials from the same manufacturer (this also applies to the base);
  • Second step. After the base material has dried, the main (construction, sculptural, structural) material can be applied. It is necessary to apply the gel in a dense layer on the base, avoiding contact with the cuticle and sides, as this will lead to peeling and chipping. The layer should also be dried in a UV lamp, the drying time is indicated in the instructions. If the gel gets on the skin of the fingers, it should be removed with a cotton swab, after wetting it in a degreaser.
  • Third step. After the gel dries, it is necessary to apply a finish. It is not necessary to file and process with a buff. Allowed only with uneven distribution of the gel on the nail.
  • Fourth step. After the finish dries, it is necessary to remove the sticky layer.

The technique of applying gel polish and biogel does not differ from applying the gel. Biogel can have only three colors: natural shade, white or colorless. But gel polish has a wide range of different colors.

Adviсe:

  • If the procedure for strengthening nails is not provided at home, it is necessary to approach the choice of a salon responsibly, since not everyone observes sanitary standards. Before a manicure, the master must process all the tools in front of the client;
  • It is forbidden to strengthen with a gel in the presence of a fungal disease or psoriasis, as the possibility of developing nail disease increases;
  • Before going on vacation, it is advisable to strengthen the nails, because the weather conditions can injure the nails quite strongly.

This procedure has different reviews. Some people are sure that strengthening nails with gel is useless and consider it just a waste of money and time. They are convinced of the effectiveness of a variety of dietary supplements, special firming agents and folk methods. And some are delighted with this method, since it is possible not only to grow nails of the desired length, but also to keep it, because the gel perfectly protects against mechanical damage. Others think that the classic gel makes the nail plate even, smooth and strong, even if they used to exfoliate and break. But here it is important to choose the right option in the form of a biogel, the components of which nourish and strengthen the nails. Plus, the biogel is created on natural ingredients. For those whose nails are healthy and strong, but long and there is a risk of breaking them, you should use gel or gel polish, as they are slightly stronger than biogel and have many different design variations.

For gel nails, the natural nail is used as a form. The more complex the style and execution, the more layers will have to be layered, and this can lead to flaking and chipping. The downside of the gel is the difficulty of removing it, since it can only be cut off, and after strengthening it is not recommended to do this, and you have to wait until the gel itself slides off.

Gel polish and biogel can be removed with a special solution, which can be done with your own hands, saving money. It consists of alcohol and flavored oils. In European countries, they have long switched to the use of gel polishes and biogels, thereby getting strong, healthy nails with a long-lasting stylish manicure.

Gel polish lovers cannot always enjoy this type of manicure precisely because of the fragile structure of the nail. Often, women are faced with the fact that either the varnish itself peels off, or the nail as a whole breaks off. Strengthening nails with acrylic powder is one way to create a solid base for varnish and strengthen the nail.

The procedure does not require special skills, as it is quite simple to perform. Therefore, those who practice gel manicure at home will be able to cope with the task on their own. It is enough just to purchase the necessary materials. But how to make an ombre on nails with gel polish, and why such a procedure is carried out, information will help to understand

Why is reinforcement needed?

Acrylic powder is a synthetic material that has stable thermoplastic properties. As a cosmetic product, it is available in the form of a powder of varying degrees of grinding. The basis for the manufacture of the material is acrylic acid, which has unique properties - it strengthens any base over which it is applied.

The material is actually inexpensive and it is quite easy to find it in any store that sells everything for nail service. In this case, you can find both colored options and colorless ones. The names of the product are varied: powdered sugar, velvet sand, velvet coating, acrylic powder. These are all trade names for the same product.

Initially, nail powder was used as a decorative material for manicure. Moreover, both colored and colorless options are used for these purposes. With its help, they made volumetric drawings, create a velvet structure of the nail plate, and much more. It all depends on the structure and method of application.

To strengthen the nail plate, acrylic powder is used as one of the base materials. After its application, the nail plate becomes strong, dense. Acrylic has the ability to cement the coating. But if, when applied decoratively to the upper layer, the material makes the nails strong, then to the lower one it is also compacted. The result is an acquired resistance to peeling, breaking off, chipping of the nail and manicure.

On the video - how and why acrylic powder is applied:

Despite the advantages, this technique also has its own drawbacks, the main of which is the 0-removal process. if you have not previously performed this procedure, then it is better to go through it in the cabin.

Strengthening with acrylic powder

Strengthening the nail with acrylic powder requires compliance with certain rules and sequence. At the same time, the procedure itself is simple, but has certain features. There are certain indications for the use of the material, as well as advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, before the application algorithm, we will consider these points in order to determine whether this manipulation is really necessary.

Advantages and disadvantages

If you figure out who is shown strengthening the nail plate, then everything is quite simple here.

The procedure for applying acrylic powder specifically for strengthening is indicated for:

  • Owners of fragile and prone to foliation of the nail plates. Acrylic has the ability to penetrate into the microcracks of the nail. When exposed to ultraviolet light, it binds and smooths out all damage like cement. That is, not only the nail is strengthened, but the causes of this condition are eliminated.
  • This method is also practiced in cases where the nail is naturally thin. Such a structure of the plate tends to wrap itself during regrowth and change shape. In this case, even gel polish does not save the situation. Acrylic powder helps to recreate another layer of the nail plate, strengthening it and making it dense. Accordingly, there will no longer be a risk of changing the shape of the nail and you can boast of a beautiful manicure.

Naturally, like any other procedure, strengthening nails with acrylic has its advantages and disadvantages. They should definitely be taken into account in order to decide whether such a manicure is really necessary for you.

But what the drawings on the nails look like with glitter and what is the procedure for applying them, it is indicated

Among the positive qualities of such an impact are:

  • Strengthening nails;
  • The natural appearance of the plates without the effect of building up and excess volume;
  • Elimination of cracks and other types of microdamage in the process of applying the material;
  • Easy correction in the presence of defects and irregularities in the application;
  • Simple method of use.

As can be seen from the list, this method of influencing the nail plates gives its undeniable advantages. But there are certain disadvantages:

  • Acrylic is rare, but can also chip off the nail;
  • The removal process is very complex. It only comes off when cut.

It is important to understand that with the help of acetone-based products, this type of manicure is very difficult to remove. Therefore, cutting is practiced in such cases. Accordingly, inept handling in the process of removing the material often leads to injury to the surface layer of the nail, which can cause the plate to move away from the nail bed.

That is why, when removing, you need to be extremely careful and as you approach the natural layer during the sawing process, the abrasive should become softer.

How to apply

Application requires a certain algorithm. Moreover, the above points cannot be ignored, since the health of the nails in the future will depend on this. With acrylic powder, you can simply give your nails a healthy appearance, or you can apply it under gel polish. In fact, both techniques do not have any special differences between themselves, but some nuances in application and application are still present.

It all starts with preparation:

  1. Initially, you need to carry out a hygienic manicure and give the nail the necessary shape.
  2. The plate is carefully cleaned of pterygium, that is, the lower layer of the cuticle. It is he who is most often responsible for the departure of any coating from the nail.
  3. Next, a thorough but gentle polishing of the nail is performed in order to remove the gloss, but at the same time not disturb the density of the nail. The surface is then cleaned of dust.
  4. The final preparation is the use of an antiseptic to eliminate various kinds of pathogens from the surface of the plate.

But what are the features of strengthening nails with biogel at home and how to carry out the procedure, you can see

On the video - a detailed application procedure:

It is very important to treat nails with an antiseptic, since the application of acrylic is usually practiced for a long time. And the same nail fungus tends to multiply rapidly and infect tissues in a short time, being "canned" by artificial materials.

Not any antiseptic is suitable for processing the nail plate. the best are Miramistin, Chlorhexidine, which eliminate pathogens. But you need to give the nails the opportunity to dry naturally. Simply wiping to kill microorganisms will not be enough.

But why do nail baths with salt and how the procedure is carried out is detailed in the article

Then the actual application of all the necessary funds begins. Therefore, make sure that everything you need is at hand during the process. The algorithm for applying acrylic powder is as follows:

  1. The first layer is applied. It helps to make the surface of the nail porous, improving the degree of adhesion of artificial material and natural keratin.

    The primer must be of high quality

  2. It is better to apply the base gel with the consistency that will be the most thick, silicone. This option is present at the bases of the KODI brand.

    One of the best base gels in its price segment

  3. After applying the base, before it dries, acrylic powder is applied. It may be colorless or colored. It all depends on what kind of coating will be used next. The only condition is that the material is applied evenly and densely so that there are no voids.

    It is very important to apply such a tool evenly.

  4. After that, drying is carried out using a special one for 2-3 minutes.

    The lamp can be of completely different power and different functionality.

  5. Upon completion of polymerization, the remaining powder is carefully removed from the plates with a nail brush.
  6. If the acrylic was applied unevenly and notches and tubercles formed, then the plate is polished until the surface becomes even.
  7. Further, if nail decoration is not carried out, then a top layer of gel polish is applied.. This will give the nails smoothness and gloss. Drying in the lamp is again carried out and the sticky layer is removed.

    The application of such a tool should be uniform, or the result will not be very positive.

This is the option when acrylic powder is used simply to strengthen nails. If the process of applying the decorative layer has not been completed and it is also planned to give a certain color to the manicure, then the top layer is not used, and the process continues further:

This is the whole process of applying the material to the nail plate. Moreover, it is not necessary to do this on the entire nail - it is enough to treat the “stressed areas” with the powder, for example, the edge of the nail, the side edges, the area of the nail bed. Then, using a nail file, trim the borders and smooth out the transitions.

Acrylic powder allows you to make nails strong, resistant to mechanical damage, to bends and temperature extremes. It protects them from the negative effects of the environment. Strengthening natural nails with acrylic powder is a simple procedure that takes about an hour.

Acrylic powder: properties and varieties

Acrylic powder is a polymer powder for nails. It is used to strengthen the plates, as well as when building them. The material is porous in structure. It does not contain therapeutic components that would help strengthen the plates due to their restoration and natural thickening. This tool has only a mechanical, protective effect. As a kind of barrier, it protects the nails, which is reflected in their healthy appearance.

Acrylic powder is harmless, it is used to prevent the lamination of the plates, their fragility and to lengthen the period of integrity of the varnish coating on the nails. It protects the plates from the effects of external factors: frost, mechanical damage, household chemicals, etc.

There are several varieties of acrylic powder:

  • Transparent and white. This classic version of powder for strengthening nails under shellac, it is used for building, creating a jacket and for sculpting.
  • Camouflage. It is characterized by increased density and natural color, it is not transparent, but as close as possible to the natural color of the nail.
  • Colored. It is used when creating nail design. Strengthening nails with colored acrylic powder for gel polish is the best option for creating a harmonious manicure.
  • neon. From the name it becomes clear that its color is neon, with the help of it you can create a spectacular manicure that will shimmer beautifully in ultraviolet color.
  • Brilliant. It is more often used when creating a festive manicure.

Which acrylic powder is best for strengthening nails? All of them are the same in properties, it is necessary to make a choice based on the goals of manicure and its design.

The benefits of acrylic nails

Acrylic powder is made from acrylic acid and is highly heat resistant. This material protects the nail from any impact. Acrylic coating is similar to cement: acrylic, penetrating into the microcracks of the plates, polymerizes under the influence of ultraviolet radiation.

The benefits of using this powder are as follows:

  • strengthening of plates;
  • creation of a protective layer without excess volume;
  • elimination of cracks and damage.

It is worth noting that the procedure takes little time and is easy to perform, the coating itself can subsequently be easily corrected.

Contraindications

Acrylic powder, like any other chemical composition, has a number of contraindications, the neglect of which can lead to irreversible consequences. It cannot be used:

  • if you are allergic to a component;
  • if there is a fungal disease;
  • during the course of chemotherapy and antibiotic treatment.

What is needed for the procedure

The question arises of how to strengthen the nails with acrylic. To do this, you need several manicure tools and tools:

  • degreaser;
  • acrylic Powder;
  • manicure brush;

At the moment, in stores you can buy gel-powder for nails, which combines the acrylic powder itself and the gel.

Preparatory stage

Before using nail powder, you need to prepare the plates themselves:

  1. They should be removed from the previous varnish or gel coating, remove decorative elements and wash care products from hands with soap.
  2. Wipe your hands dry.
  3. Give your nails the desired shape with a nail file.
  4. Remove the cuticle with the help of special tools, or push it back, after softening it with oil.

Instructions for strengthening nails with acrylic powder

It is possible to strengthen with acrylic under gel polish, or without it. Below is an instruction on how to use nail polish powder:

It is not necessary to apply gel polish, if you wish, you can skip this step if the purpose of the procedure is only to strengthen.

It is worth noting that strengthening nails with acrylic powder at home determines the observance of certain safety measures. The material has an unpleasant chemical odor due to the fact that it contains certain chemicals. They can provoke allergies, so you should work with acrylic powder in a room that is ventilated or equipped with a special hood.

How to remove acrylic coating

In order to remove acrylic powder from nails, you do not need certain professional skills.

The basic rules for how to remove acrylic powder from nails:

  1. You can not remove gel polish by peeling it off without the use of special liquids.
  2. You need to take a nail file 180 grit, a buff, a pusher with a hatchet, 10 pieces of cotton wool, 10 pieces of foil, a remover.
  3. With a nail file, carefully remove the top top layer.
  4. Put a few drops of remover on a cotton pad, attach it to the plate and fix it tightly with special clips or foil.
  5. Repeat steps for all nails.
  6. Wait 10-15 minutes.
  7. Remove gel polish, base and powder with an orange stick or pusher.
  8. Buff your nails.

At the end, you can treat the plates and the area near the cuticle with nourishing oil.

Thus, this kind of nail strengthening procedure can make them much stronger, and the manicure more durable.

For some women, growing long nails is a real problem due to their brittleness and slow growth. Of course, nail extensions can help them out, but true fans of natural beauty will find visual differences between natural nails and artificial nails even under ten layers of varnish. If the extension categorically does not suit you, then your option is to strengthen the nails with natural means, or with a protective coating, which we will talk about now.

Strengthening with gel or gel polish

Gel coating of nails, in order to strengthen them, is suitable for owners of thin and brittle nails. If the nail is cracked, you don't have to cut it. Usually, in such situations, the manicurist additionally strengthens the nails with the help of fiberglass. Fiberglass is a special material (usually linen or silk) that has no color, which serves as an additional layer under the gel coating. After applying the gel, the nails are dried under a UV lamp. The result lasts 10-14 days, depending on the rate of nail growth.

In all three photos you can see natural nails strengthened with a gel coat.

Strengthening with acrylic

Acrylic coating, like gel, strengthens nails and prevents cracking. The only difference is that gel nail strengthening is much easier to do on your own, since the procedure does not require quick action. Acrylic powder thickens very quickly, reacting with the liquid, so it must be applied very quickly. If you want to emphasize the naturalness of your nails, cover them with the thinnest layer of acrylic, otherwise the nails will look very much like extensions.

Necessary materials:

  • Manicure tools;
  • Manicure brushes;
  • Primer (base coat);
  • Monomer (liquid, or liquid);
  • Acrylic Powder.

Sequencing:

  1. The nails are prepared for a strengthening coating: the cuticle is removed, the nails are given the desired shape with a nail file, the nail plate is degreased and polished;
  2. Primer is applied to the nails;
  3. The brush is dipped into the liquid, then into the powder, after which it is applied with a thin layer on the nails;
  4. Drying of manicure is carried out under the influence of a UV lamp.

In the first image you see a variety of colors of acrylic powder for strengthening nails. In the second photo, colored powder reacts with the liquid, and in the third photo, the master covers the nail plate with acrylic.

Biogel for strengthening

Biogel is a modern tool for both building and strengthening natural nails. Nail care with this tool will not only not harm, but also significantly improve the condition of the nails. The composition of the biogel includes the following components: South African yew resin, proteins, calcium, vitamins E and A.

Necessary materials:

  • Manicure tools;
  • Base coat agent;
  • Biogel;
  • Finishing coat;
  • Various decorations.

Sequencing:

  1. A base coat is applied to polished nails;
  2. The nails are covered with biogel, then dried under the influence of a UV lamp;
  3. Finishing coat is applied to the finished manicure.

In the first photo you can see how the biogel is applied to strengthen nails, and in the second photo you can see the final result.

The biogel is removed from the nails with a special solution, without cutting off part of the nail plate and without injuring natural nails. This is precisely the main advantage of the biogel, since the removal of gel and acrylic from nails does not affect their condition in the best way.

In order for the nails not to break, and the manicure to last longer, they are strengthened with acrylic powder specially for gel polish. This procedure is especially needed for naturally thin nails, because gel polish will not be able to stick well on them, and it will not look aesthetically pleasing.

How to strengthen nails under gel polish with acrylic powder

Acrylic powder is a synthetic polymer powder that tends to quickly harden by combining with a monomer - a liquid specially designed for this.

Therefore, strengthening nails with acrylic powder under gel polish is quite simple and difficult at the same time. Having prepared in advance, it can be made at home. It is important to choose the right powder and follow the procedure exactly.

The porous structure is the main indicator of a good material.

When choosing a powder pay special attention to the quality of the material. A good acrylic powder should closely cover the nail plate, not blur at the same time, not crystallize and be easy to manipulate.

The porous structure is the main indicator of a good material. When using raw materials of poor quality, there is a risk of allergic reactions, and if the technology is not followed, you can damage the nail or cause an infection, therefore it is important to treat the nail plates and the skin near them with antiseptic agents and strictly observe all rules for the use of materials.

Acrylic powder, when interacting with a liquid (liquid), thickens very quickly, because everything should be done quickly and accurately so you don't have to redo your work later.

The main task of acrylic powder is to strengthen nails, and not necessarily only under gel polish - you can leave them without a decorative coating, they will look neat and natural anyway. Acrylic fills all microcracks in the nail and restores its surface.

It must be remembered that the application of acrylic powder is prohibited in case of nail fungus.

Since a greenhouse effect is created between the nail and the acrylic layer, which aggravates this condition, it is also highly undesirable for diabetes, intestinal diseases and hormonal disorders (a manicure may simply not work).

There is no evidence of the danger or safety of using acrylic during pregnancy, but it is better not to risk it.

When cutting manicure, acrylic coating can be applied no earlier than a day after manipulations with the cuticle (in order to avoid irritation of delicate skin or infection). After three to four weeks of using the acrylic coating, it is recommended to let the nails rest.

Powder properties

Acrylic powder has the following properties:

  • the porous structure of acrylic powder allows the nail to breathe;
  • when hardening, a very strong structure is obtained, the nails do not break or exfoliate;
  • when using powder, there are no bubbles;
  • protects nails from any external influences: household chemicals, sunlight, frost;
  • the use of acrylic powder for strengthening allows the nails to retain their natural shape - unlike gel coatings, which pull along and injure the nail plates;
  • powder can be any color;
  • due to its strength, the powder is applied in a thin layer, which gives the nails a completely natural look;
  • nails extended with acrylic powder are easily corrected, which gel cannot boast of;
  • the acrylic coating is also easy to remove, using a tool specially designed for this;
  • a manicure made with acrylic can last up to 4 weeks.

How Acrylic Strengthens

Due to its fine porous structure, acrylic is able to penetrate into the smallest holes, into any cracks in the nail plate, filling them and thereby making the nail stronger. Its surface becomes smooth and looks absolutely natural.

The nail coated with acrylic powder becomes smooth

Such a bond helps the nail withstand any temperature and mechanical stress. It remains plastic, does not break, does not soften from a long stay in the water. At the same time, the natural nail breathes freely, and if a special vitamin composition is applied under the acrylic layer, it also receives additional natural strengthening.

Necessary tools for the procedure

Strengthening nails with acrylic powder for gel polish is performed using the following materials and tools:

  • disinfectant for the treatment of hands and tools;
  • degreaser;
  • nail files for filing natural and acrylic nails and polishing them (they should be of different abrasiveness: for edges - large, for modeling - medium, for polishing - minimal), as well as a buff (a special soft tool for polishing nails);
  • acrylic Powder;
  • monomer;
  • primer (in other words, a primer). The acidic primer removes excess moisture and lifts the scales of the nail so that the artificial nail gets better adhesion to the natural plate. Acid-free primer sticks the coating to the nail like double-sided tape. It can be used on sensitive nails;
  • brushes for distributing acrylic and removing dust after grinding (they should be elastic and dense, modeling brushes are round with a sharp tip, they can be flat, and wide ones are usually used to remove dust);
  • cups for working with material;
  • pusher (shovel for manicure);
  • cuticle softener;
  • tips (plastic used as a substrate on the nail. It will be needed if, in addition to strengthening, extensions are carried out), glue for them and a tips cutter;
  • finish coating;
  • ultraviolet lamp (or LED).

LED lamp is necessary for working with acrylic powder

Preparation of nails for the procedure

Before you start strengthening under gel polish, your nails need to be prepared so that the acrylic powder can fix well on them.

First you need to do a non-edged manicure

First, a regular manicure is done(better not trimmed).

The nail preparation procedure includes the following:

  1. Nails should be free from any remnants of decor, old varnish, care products, etc.
  2. Hands are thoroughly washed with warm water and soap and dried.
  3. Each nail is treated with an antiseptic (if there is no special one, you can use alcohol or hydrogen peroxide).
  4. With the help of a pusher and a special tool (keratolytic), the cuticle is removed.
  5. Nails are filed, polished and degreased.

Now you can apply a strengthening composition on the prepared nails.

How to strengthen: steps to beauty

Strengthening nails with acrylic powder for gel polish requires attention and a certain speed of action.

Their sequence is as follows:

  • Step 1. You need to open the window and put on a regular medical mask, since acrylic has a strong chemical smell that can cause an allergic reaction (in the warm season, you can go to the balcony and work there).
  • Step 2 Prepare all the necessary materials and tools.
  • Step 3 A primer is applied to the prepared nails.
  • Step 4 After the primer dries, each nail is covered with a monomer and sprinkled with acrylic powder using a pusher. To strengthen under the gel polish, the powder is taken transparent. You can pour generously, no tubercles will appear. It is better to keep the nail over the jar of material at this time (in order to save money).
  • Step 5 Immediately after sprinkling, the nail is placed under a UV or LED lamp (for 1-2 minutes).
  • Step 6 Excess powder is removed with a brush.
  • Step 7 Nails are corrected and polished with nail files and buffs.
  • Step 8 Nails are reinforced. You can apply gel polish.

You can strengthen it in a slightly different way. In step 4, instead of sprinkling acrylic on the nail, the liquid brush is immediately dipped into the powder, then the finished composition is quickly and accurately applied to the nail with a 1 mm indent from the cuticle.

Primer is applied first

In this case, speed and accuracy are especially important, as the mixture hardens very quickly. The coating layer should be as thin as possible, this is what distinguishes strengthening from building. All other steps, except for the sixth (it is not required at all), are the same. If the nails are very thin and brittle, two layers of acrylic coating can be applied.

Disadvantages of powder

Of course, in addition to the positive qualities, acrylic powder also has disadvantages that need to be mentioned:

  • Acrylic powder has a specific smell, after working with it, some people feel unwell (now there are odorless powders, but they cost an order of magnitude more expensive);
  • Poor quality material can cause allergies (and not only on the hands: both eyes and lungs can suffer);
  • When air enters between the nail and the acrylic coating, an environment favorable for the growth of bacteria is created. There is a risk of developing a fungal or any other infection;
  • If the strengthening technology is not followed, the nail may be damaged;
  • The natural shine of the nail is lost;
  • Acrylic coating is not recommended to be removed with a conventional nail polish remover (containing acetone) - this has a bad effect on the condition of the nail;
  • You can’t walk with acrylic on your nails for a long time, they deteriorate from this;
  • The use of acrylic powder requires some skill due to its rapid hardening when exposed to liquid. If you hesitate or apply the material unevenly, you will have to redo everything again.

Graduated experts give some important advice:

  1. Experts advise using nourishing varnishes and using more calcium to strengthen nails, because acrylic powder itself does not nourish, but fixes the nail under the gel polish, that is, it simply contributes to its longer wearing.
  2. Vitamins A and B, iodine are also needed to strengthen nails and improve their growth. For elasticity, hardness and regular shape, silicon and iron are required, and sulfur promotes tissue regeneration.
