Whom to pray before the wedding?

Every person dreams of being happy. But what does it mean to be happy?

To be successful, wealthy, respected?..

      • To be needed, loved, desired? ..
      • To have a house - a full cup, and so that cheerful children's laughter sounds in that house? ..
      • Give your love and receive a return gift of love? ..
      • Or maybe feel really accomplished? Accomplished as a person, as a creator, as a successor of his kind? ..

Perhaps all this is “happiness”. And the guarantee of success and prosperity, the guarantor of our peace and good spirits is nothing else thanhappy marriage. A marriage in which there is a place for love and understanding, joy and warmth, mutual assistance and self-sacrifice.

This is the kind of marriage that newlyweds dream of when they make marriage vows at the altar. And they swear to be with their other half in sorrow and in joy, in sickness and health, while their hearts are beating filled with love. And prayer will help to fulfill these vows and keep your feelings in the face of trials.

But is there prayer for a happy marriage, you ask. Who to pray for a successful marriage?

You need to pray to the Lord and your Guardian Angel, the Mother of God, Who attended the marriage in Cana of Galilee and the Apostle Simon the Zealot, as well as the miracle workers of Murom - the right-believing Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia.

Pray to the Lord and your Guardian Angel

  • The Lord is our intercessor. Prayer to Him strengthens the spirit, brings peace, leads to the fulfillment of cherished desires. He stands up for his children. And everyone who believes in Him will receive help from Him.
  • Do charitable deeds and pray to your Guardian Angel. As, according to legend, Raphael (one of the seven angels who offer the prayers of the saints to God) helped Tobias find a bride and heal his father Tobit, for the righteous deeds of their family, so your Guardian Angel will help you.

Pray to the Mother of God who attended the marriage in Cana of Galilee

Theologians agree that by His presence at the wedding feast in Cana of Galilee and the appearance of His first miracle (at the request of the Mother of God, He turned water into wine), Jesus Christos consecrated the sacrament of marriage. In the fact that He did not refuse His Mother in her request, one can see the special power of prayers to the Mother of God.

Pray to the Apostle Simon Zealot (Zealot)

Information about this disciple of Jesus Christ is rather scarce. Simon the Zealot is identified with the half-brother of Jesus (from Joseph and Salome). It was he, according to legend, who celebrated the wedding in Cana of Galilee, when Jesus performed His first miracle. Therefore, it is customary for Simon the Zealot to pray for happiness in marriage.

Pray to Peter and Fevronia - Miracle Workers of Murom

Blessed Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia are revered in Russia as Orthodox saints who patronize marriage and the family. According to legend, the commoner Fevronia cured Prince Peter of Murom of leprosy and, in gratitude for the healing, asked the noble prince to marry her. To which he refused. After that, the disease returned to him again. Fevronia again healed the prince and became his legal wife. But the boyars opposed this marriage. And only after some time Fevronia managed to earn their respect and love of the people. Having lived a righteous life, the couple took tonsure in different monasteries, where they lived out their lives, praying the Lord to send them death in one day and hour. They bequeathed to be buried together. And that's what happened. They died at the same time. But they were buried in different monasteries. And the next day, the bodies of the spouses, miraculously, ended up in the same grave. For a long time, newlyweds prayed to Murom wonderworkers, Peter and Fevonia, that their marriage would be happy.

And further. Remember the folk wisdom: “Trust in God, but don’t make a mistake yourself!”. We forge our happiness with our own hands. So let your family happiness become a masterpiece of joint creativity. Shining like the sun. Boundless, like the love of the Lord for His children. To the joy of you, and the whole world for a feast for the eyes! ..
